![]() Florida woman seeks $5 million in suit over microwavable mac and cheese
![]() HIALEAH, Fla. (WFLA) — A Florida woman is suing the Kraft Heinz Food Company for $5 million, claiming they misled the public about the time it takes to prepare Velveeta microwavable mac and cheese cups. Court records show that a West Palm Beach-based law firm filed the lawsuit on behalf of a Hialeah woman in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida on November 18. Amanda Ramirez is listed as the main plaintiff for the class-action suit, which alleges Kraft Heinz violated federal law by saying Velveeta Shells & Cheese cups take 3½ minutes to prepare. “Ready in 3½ minutes” is printed on the box, which is the amount of time the product takes to cook in a microwave. However, the suit says it takes more time to complete the other required steps. This is how the lawsuit describes the cooking process:
“Consumers seeing ‘ready in 3½ minutes’ will believe it represents the total amount of time it takes to prepare the Product,” the suit states. “Meaning from the moment it is unopened to the moment it is ready for consumption.” The lawsuit claims Ramirez bought the product for a “premium price” of $10.99 “between October and November 2022, among other times.” However, it did not say how long it actually took Ramirez to prepare the mac and cheese. The suit described Ramirez as someone who “looks to bold statements of value when quickly selecting groceries”, and “like many consumers who seek to stretch their money as far as possible when buying groceries.” The plaintiffs are seeking at least $5 million in damages, “including statutory and punitive exclusive of interest and costs.” News Channel 8 has obtained a statement from the Kraft Heinz Food Company for comment about the lawsuit. “We are aware of this frivolous lawsuit and will strongly defend against the allegations in the complaint,” the Kraft Heinz Company said. ![]()

Fact is people make millions off these type of lawsuits all the time
Remember when paper towels said 30-40% more absorbent? Somebody tested it, found out it was the same absorbency as always and sued for millions now u don’t see that sh*t on the packaging no more Side note: it’s interesting seeing the comments attacking the plaintiff instead of the business. Great case study for capitalist conditioning in here. Last edited by Mr.Green E.U.I.; 11-28-2022 at 10:15 AM.. |

An experiment was done. A person took a cup of water, microwaved it, allowed it to cool, then water a plant with it. The plant died the next day. It's safe to say, that a boiled water from a stove, cooled, would in nowhere near have the same effect, as the process does not involve unnatural heat radiation. So, either you are uninformed, trolling or purposefully trying to harm and deceive people here. Are you a serpent or perhaps demon possessed?

![]() You actually think we should be mad about the time it takes to remove a lid and add water? Lmao for real? Not only that, its capitalistic conditioning that we aren't mad about it? Advertising as we know it should be illegal but that has nothing to do with this specific situation.

I had a lawsuit going last year with a very prominent high profile lawyer…thought it was airtight tbh.
Hospital covered they a*s though…basically patched my pop up just enough to avoid liability. My whole view of hospitals is totally different now. They not there to help they there to take money |
