I always laugh when folks spend a lot of money on cars. It’s really unnecessary. Really be struggling and fronting for other poor people

If you need to finance you don’t have the money. Always pay upfront - exceptions are made though based on circumstances

Pull up to a gas pump, after someone with a “nice car” leaves. See how much was put in.

Nah… I can buy 90% of consumer vehicles out in cash right now. If the rates were at 2018-2020, IE: 0% and I needed a vehicle. It would be beneficial. Also when it comes to vehicles that make money, like box trucks. I’ll take a loan out if the contracts are set.

This....

Many, Many, Many years ago I was trying to explain this to family members. I would say Why not get something 4-5 year old when depreciation starts to level off. They all would say "I don't want a used car, I gotta cop me something fresh off the lot." After a while I just gave up.

Question….why do people mention depreciation with cars so much ?

Me personally, if I was rich I would have cars simply for pleasure. Not to make my money back or a profit when I’m done with it. Maybe I’m different.

Most Americans aren’t rich and can’t afford to have cars for pleasure

If the interest rate is low (less than 5%) it's better than paying upfront.

getting duped to pay more for less is a whole nother subject but aint the u.s. one of the cheapest places for cars. and even at todays prices, the gas money still aint that high compared to other non oil produciong countries

some countries have prohibitively high taxes and parking arrangement that would make your eye pop out

It depends...as long as it'd within your means and you get something out if it don't see the problem. Having a nice car and driving makes you happy. Then you always get people complimenting/giving you a different type lf respect. Then females...you see those fake vids of dudes bagging chicks eoth nice whips but that sh*t is legit. Women all about the money

depends where you live

I live in houston and you need something close to a new car to survive

everything is so far away you eating miles up by the day

and that older car may not make it long
