Pac is from an earlier class than Nas and Big

Pac came out in 91, Big and Nas came out officially in 94'

Technically DMX would be considered as part of the same class as Jay because his grind began back in the late 80's as well. X even had a single out in 93' called Born Loser. He didn't take off until 98'.

He is saying he released RD but it wasn't on the same level as the releases from Big, Nas and Pac. They were going multi-platinum, while Jay was barely at gold. Jay didn't blast off until Volume 2.

That's unfair because Jay-Z was an independent rapper on his first album in '96, he wasn't on no major label like those other guys.

Was 2pac a platinum superstar after his first album? NO
Was Nas a platinum superstar after his first album? NO

Ice Cube albums were released through Priority, which is the same label that released Reasonable Doubt. Cube was going multi-platinum.

He’s right and to be honest Jay got left back a couple of times beginning with Jaz-O when they did the first The Originators, then when he left Jaz & went solo with all the wack pre Reasonable Doubt sh*t he used to put out like I Can’t Get With That, In My Life Time & that sh*t with Kane & Shyhiem, and finally though Reasonable Doubt was dope it was a slow burn and he didn’t pop until Big & Pac died and went on a historical run.
