Yea I can see it. The effortless flow sounds reminiscent of pun but it also sounds like Shabazz was heavily influenced by Kool G Rap. Who pun was also heavily influenced by

Been listening to Shabazz since then. Always thought he sounded like Joe like bro said above and Joe sounds like g rap to me. Not saying they are trying to sound like but they sound like that branch of the tree. Kool G Rap.

One of the illest , Big Pun , said he got his style from this track , you can definitely hear it . Respect Shabazz , gravediggazs
Kool G Rap originated that style b....know your history. And Pun was heavily influenced by him.
5 years ago if you posted this with this exact same title I wouldn't have thought anything about it. Now my mind instantly goes to is this dude trying to bring up some "this is who this culture vulture stole his style from talk."
I'm still not sure about the motives of this post, to be honest which is very telling of the very weird day and age we're living in. Where people with no real ties to the culture (I'm talking NYC culture not just Hip Hop) get to constantly have an opinion on it.
That said this track is fire! I have to agree with others that this sounds more like where Joe got his style from because If I'm not mistaken Pun really looked up to G Rap. I think he even kissed G Raps ring when he first met him.
Also is it me or did music videos from the 90's just look better than the videos of today? There is something very raw and real that the cameras nowadays fail to catch. It must be because people were shooting on film back then and everything is digital now. And also I think it's because back then they actually had real film makers shooting music videos instead n1ggas just getting their mans to hold their iphones
