i don't think people understand how much iran (as a whole and government) do not give a fu*k about no weak a*s protests or groups (even large groups) of people go against the grain. they will starve you the fu*k out. sh*t different over there.

Iran is one of the youngest countries in the world as well. Their leader is old, this is going to be interesting.

Its pretty wild how little most people know about Iran and how wrong most of what they think they know is.

Iran probably is weirdly enough one of the most tolerant nations in the middle east.

They have one of the largest population of transgenders and s*xual reassignment surgeries in the world. LOL

They literally have designated seats in their government that only jews can fill and only christians can fill for representation.

Its a strange nation in the sense that the ycan be openly traditional but when you are there you realize there is a lot of sh*t that goes on that they let slide and jsut don't talk about.

Its similar to Turkey in that sense, at least turkey in the early to mid 90s when I was over there.

leadership being old means nothing. it's about that power and they have a strangle hold and not letting that go. any regime to challange that will immediately rule with an iron fist again.

The protests could be legitimately the people f*ghting for freedom. It’s just that the leaders of Iran has seen this before. CIA overthrew the government of Iran with a coup in 1953 dubbed operation Ajax. That led to the mullahs coming to power. CIA had admitted they spent just $60k on planning and executing the coup d’etat by bribing politicians and young students and newspapers. Imagine that, overthrowing a government for less than the cost of a bmw. So whenever Iran sees protests, they automatically think USA paying people to “protest” again.

I wonder what “Muhammad” taught about beating women?

Jesus would never tell his followers to choose violence against women

some people for sure want freedom but they never getting that. it takes a hell of a lot to go into motion for all that. it's actually an outlier in most the world. prosparity and freedom is the exception, not the rule on most of the planet for most of history

Depends on how many are willing to die to achieve it. Broadcasting the Iranian government k*lling thousands of people will for sure get other governments around the world to act. Remember the UN Security Council can be bypassed under the “responsibility to protect” doctrine. Ever since UN peacekeeping troops stood by and watch the genocide in Rwanda happen without helping to stop it, countries (mostly the United States lol) feel like they won’t stand by helplessly because of UN inaction, they have a responsibility to protect and will act. Now the trick is will that be a good thing to the folks in Iran. They might be seen as traitors if they’re asking foreign troops to attack their country

they are already a tyrannical government other countries won't "act" when they need resources. it's called geopolitics. nobody gives a fu*k about the un council nor should they because it's a joke. i wish people really understool that most counties are not beholden to their people because they simply don't have to nor give a fu*k about them.
