I work indirectly in the semiconductor industry. I can tell you there is a shortage of talent. Not only in this industry but a lot of engineering fields. For some reason after Covid was over there appeared to be a lot of people that went ahead and retired. I’d also like to see if the graduating engineers decreased.

All I’m saying is that I’m making really good money at the moment.

If the pay is good enough, people will clear the hurdles to get the jobs. If it isn't then the ownership cla$s will be claiming, "Nobody wants to work anymore" like a lot of businesses are now

Job market is going to either start competing by offering more perks or start making robots that can do the work. My advice, simplify as much as you possibly can and take away the power from colleges so the average person can do the job. Or, and this is not popular, start recruiting from other countries.

These companies can't afford robots

It’s a good addition to the opportunities available to the youth or anyone who wants a decent career as a manufacturing technician with opportunities to grow albeit with some limits.

I work for one albeit in IT Manufacturing.
I don’t plan in staying there in the long term, mainly because my newly promoted supervisor is an a$$hole, you get tired of wearing the cleansuits, the on call rotation, not being able to work remotely.

My company is automating the production process though.

It’s a good industry to be in for the foreseeable future, especially if you’re more than a process or manufacturing engineer.

We do a $1500 signing bonus and start at $21/hr. Could go to $25 depending on experience. Muthafu#kas work for a month and dip.

$1500 bonus is split into 3-6-12 months. So, n1ggas be thinking they’ll grab a quick 1500 and leave.

Pay people a living wage, offer them good benefits and time off, and don't work them to death and they will work anywhere.

Word! I had two older engineers that retired during Covid-19 and had to scramble to find replacements. We offered $85k to start and being able to work remotely when possible. Finding engineers nowadays is tough but finding them for specialized fields is damn near impossible unless you offer good money.

The hospitals I service, pay $35 starting for RT (respiratory therapist) but bumpy to $42 an hour if you have other certs or exp. Everyone gets a 5k sign on bonus, most folks dip though after like 3 months lol. I don’t blame them at all. You can make almost 100-300 an hour traveling. One of my exes making almost 8k gross a week, just traveling to hospitals and working for 2 hrs and netflix for 8hrs, I wish I’d went RT. I still make good bread for a singe man, but bruh I could be a millionaire plus before 35

Just because you weren't qualified for higher education and are a complete failure in life doesn't mean others are.

$85k to start? Is that for entry level or with experience?

I’ve got several years of experience (less than 10) and I’m getting offers anywhere from $120k-150k with a sign on bonus of $10-20k, relocation paid, 401k @ 6-15% match.

Now is the time to recreate yourself and jump into industries you’re interested in.

To start. If you have years of experience of course you'll get offered more.
