That person might wanted to block out their vin, just saying

But yikes, and that's only on a ten year old electric vehicle.

Full electric cars seem like a pain in the a*s for this reason.

My girl has a 2010 Prius and I slapped a new hybrid battery in that bi*ch for 1375 and an hour of work. Couldn’t imagine dropping 5 figures on a fix

Thats only 70, 000 miles… a gas chevy would still be solid at that number… idk if thats a bad car but the battery should last a 100k at least wtf

To be fair, that car was wrecked salvaged - - and those repairs took 15-18 labor hours or so. 16k is pretty awesome considering the battery is 13.5k. Especially from a dealer/manufacturer.

The dealer would charge $7-8k for my transmission to be replaced smh

Those batteries are expensive because colbat is expensive. sh*t if you driving a ev your car is fueled by child slave labor

Go with a hybrid cuz if the battery goes there's a engine as a back up.

Batteries in cars have always been the issue when it comes to life and then repairs and costs. I had a honda insight (hybrid) in which the hybrid battery sh*t when I hit 100K miles. It was supposed to last up 140K. I had the extended warranty on the vehicle so it didn't cost me anything. If i didn't, the battery and repair was going to cost me more than $20K which was more than double what the car was worth at the time.
