Bruh as a NYC dude, I’ve had my license since 2009, I drove a car maybe 2-3 time once I got my license between 2009-2011. Have not even touched a steering wheel since. That’s that NYC sh*t. I can easily afford a car right now, but there’s no parking where I live or where I work and public transportation is faster than driving from where I live to where I work. Let’s not even talk about parking or alternate side parking.

I know too many dudes driving cars, but living with their momma. In my opinion their priorities are fu*ked up. People see a car as a status symbol, but I see it as a waste and headache for my lifestyle.

That's that NYC mentality. Lol, a car is a necessity not a status symbol for pretty much most other places in life not NYC. Public transportation only works like that in NYC. I live in Jersey that has more options than most and if I relied on public transportation for my daughter, for work, etc. I'd be broke, fatherless, starving and lonely.

In Jersey you def need one. Some of my friends will argue with me on why they need a car and honestly, I see right through the sh*t they convince themselves of. In NYC you don’t need a car unless you live in the Bronx sections of Throgs Neck/Pelham/ Woodlawn or Yonkers, or if you live in East New York, Coney, or far rock. Pretty much all the other areas have stable public transportation routes. Staten Island don’t count. It should be it’s own state at this point

I just don’t see the point of paying the car note + outrageous insurance + parking + the headaches of avoiding tickets. The train gets me through 3 boroughs on my daily commute in an hour. A car usually takes the same amount of time from Brooklyn to Bronx. Does not factor in parking or traffic time tho. And trust there will be traffic on certain days. Plus gas. I’m extra good on all of it tbh.

How many times have you had your car towed? That “no standing” on certain days would k*ll me.

Bro I never owned a car for this reason. My boys done had that happen to them several times. The street sígnage can be confusing.
