Imma ride with Austin bc I’m born and raised here but La Holla(Hoya for the Bx plairs that dropped out) is in San Diego which is pretty much the Austin of California gas lamp district is essentially their 6th st. If I had to move anywhere from Austin it would be San Diego.

If you can afford La Jolla, it’s that all day and it ain’t even close. I lived in San Diego and actually just got back from there again last week.

I’ve been to both cities. La Jolla easy, even though the Austin house is nicer. La Jolla just has a special vibe to it that’s hard to explain.

Better walk back in this thread after researching California property tax vs. Texas property tax.

I'm aware of TX property taxes as a TX homeowner. The lack of a state income tax more than makes up for it. Not to mention Cali has both property tax and state income tax smh.

pretty self explanatory

most counties you only need a business license and not a general contractors, so anybody can build homes and they do.

The idea was so land owners could build on their own property hassle free, but if you've ever built homes you would know that texas is substandard when compared to california.

I'm willing to bet that Austin home on the water isnt even vapor wrapped and will have black mold in its walls within 10 years.

I've built homes here in california and have family land and property in texas and it doesnt compare. Spec homes in california are built better than customs in texas

You do not have better schools. Texas public school districts are trash. I’m a product of them, and I’ve seen how sh*tty Texas public schools are. Had Dallas teachers striking. SAISD is a fu*king joke.

Public health services? Better check that Dallas Presby hospital.

Infrastructure? Austin got some of the worst traffic in the country for as small as it is. They was saying how sh*t the infrastructure was back in the 90s.

Not one public transit in Texas is better than BART.

How long you live in Texas and how long you live in Cali?

what’s y’all tax dollars going toward? How far behind is Texas compared to the rest of the country? Abbot and Paxton got y’all paying taxes to keep Texas in the 1950’s. Enjoy.

Yo what are you talking about? What are Cali's tax dollars going towards? You really think the Cali govt spends tax dollars more efficiently than TX govt? Can you specify what you mean by "behind"?

Newsflash: all governments are inefficient allocators of capital. I'd rather pay less taxes and build my wealth than give money to the govt to waste.

You do you tho.

Y’all got no legal weed generating tax revenue.

Your womens healthcare rights been in jeopardy .

Some other bullsh*t Abbott was trying to bring back involving from the 50s..

Texas been looking funny in the light all year politically. Got a bunch of hick farmers dictating your state politics.
