I pretty much know what I'm gonna buy at full price based on initial reveals and the company making the game

we're not gonna talk about all the trash COD's and Madden's and various other games I bought based on blind customer loyalty though

Depends on how much time I'm going to get out of it. I'm definitely not spending that on a single-player game though.

$60 games are a thing of the past for me. I haven't spent more than $40 on a new game since switching over to PC. The only game I've recently spent that much money on was TLOU 2, which had to be a first-day cop for me. Looking back at it, I would've never spent that much money on it had I known that Factions wasn't coming until the PS6.

My goofy a*s spent $100 on MK 11 for all the DLC and preorder sh*t. That sh*t dropped down to 40 ish around that summer. I was mad but not that much because I played the fu*k out of that game.

I bought dark souls 3 with all the DLC for about $20 late 2020. Now I was gaming so hard all January thru April on that game and it was fun.

Around 2018 I bought red dead 2 for $60 but I had a gift card. I really ain’t play that game for a while because I had other games I wanted to play. That sh*t was really good, I played that from April to about July.

$60 game must be worth it and must be something you have to enjoy. To me today all these new games you may as well wait a year or two, have all dlc and updates.

Man if some of the games wasn't an exclusive, I'll be set with these 5 and wouldn't mind paying $70 per game

Cuphead deluxe with the new DLC
Little Nightmares
Super Mario Maker 2
Hitman trilogy

Probably only a handful of studios worthy of having their games purchased

Rest of them are relegated to GameFly due to inconsistent track record

God bless

Replay value, great story, wonderful gaming experience… games I consider worth it…

Ghost of tushima, last of us, god of war, returnal, resident evil 7 VR wasn’t 70 but the experience was worth that. Gears series. I still play gears 5 daily to this day. Early halo series, hellblade, and tell tale game. Just to name a few

Honestly Game of the year quality. Last of us 2, Ghost of Tsushima, RDR2, God Of war etc. very few games are deserving of a $60+ price tag

Story

Gameplay mechanics. Doesn't need to be innovative every time, just tried and true and finely tuned(Max Payne 3)

Replay value. I dont see myself replaying cyberpunk, but I've clocked in well over 100 hours. I got my money's worth. But a game that has a 3, 4, 8 hour campaign, in gonna need a few replays out of it.

Multi-player is a nonfactor as I don't game online or split screen

Physics. I've been real big on physics in games ever since the havok. A big part of the enjoyment is seeing all the different ways an enemy will fall when they get hit my a grenade or a car. They've made games 10 times as fun and repayable because of how the physics are so closely tied to the combat(Max Payne 2, Psi Ops, The Bouncer). They've even made total sh*t games enjoyable for hours and hours(Minority Report: Everybody Runs). The physics engine helps sell the impact of your weapons when a point blank shotgun blast send your enemy flying over a table or through a window, knocking over lamps and tvs in the process

Those are my main ones

Not much at all. Games drop in price way too fast now. Don't need to be first one to play it for $70 I can wait for a sale and cop for the low.

Minus that Capcom we have similar taste. Hitman the GOAT franchise.

If the sh*t can be finished in a week then that sh*t ain’t worth 60-70 dollars. I been playing GTA V on PS4 for almost 6 years , that sh*t was worth 60-70. I played Elden Ring for over a month , maybe 2 months , that sh*t was worth it.

It’s 60 out the gate regardless, I feel you can charge 70 for aaa titles that have longer game play value. But it’s rare 70 proves to be worth the price I’ll do it for early access not really pre order bonus materials or other gimmicks. Anything that’s a remastered should be 40 and lower, remakes like re 2 and 3 didn’t hold up for the price of admission at 60 but I do appreciate them. But personally I never buy at retail anymore and I test games on as a side gig so I get 2k madden and a bunch of stuff for free a month or two after they drop.

replayability 100% - mean reason why i rarely ever drop that much on a solely single player game. i just wait till a price drop to justify the one play through

Replayability or a decent sized campaign with a good amount of content.

These short games that can be finished with a gaming weekend charging $70... Nah. Unless it's must play GOAT status.
