I was watching this video about Iverson and the sixers really wasted his best years. They never put any other stars around him. This man made it to the playoffs repeatedly with bench players. Even giving Kobe and the lakers that work in the finals. Plus with the 8th pick, they drafted Larry Hughes over Paul Peirce and Dirk in 98.

Carmelo definitely wasted his prime when he took the money from the Knicks instead of going to Chicago with d rose, jokim, Jimmy Butler and taj gibson in 2014. Could've been crazy for the bulls

Why would Melo win a ring in Chicago? You named 4 guys who’ve combined for 1 Finals appearance in their entire careers. And Thibs hasn’t shown he can win a championship with his coaching style & how he handles rotations/development.

As a Melo fan. Fact of the matter is Melo didn’t have the guaranteed championship option because there’s a feeling/belief a lot of teams held that he wasn’t the answer to a championship puzzle at the money/role he was looking for.

You’re better off taking the money. He had/has a lot of love in NY and eventually for however meaningless you think it will be they’ll retire his jersey, he’ll get a standing ovation, and get cheered every time he comes to a game and gets put on camera. Chicago would be a major disappointment from a fanbase that doesn’t have much love for him and it would’ve started earlier what eventually happened with him bouncing team to team when not in NY.

But to answer your question.

Elton Brand.

Completely wasted his first 7 or 8 years in the league somehow in 2 of the leagues biggest media markets, the minute he finally started to get the respect his consistent play had earned him he ends up tearing his Achilles. Never returned the same player, & ended up on a really bad contract that made his physical decline a constant part of conversation when he was brought up.

So you think melo wouldn't have had a better chance to win a ring in Chicago with that team? Thibs was only there for a year after melo decided to take the max with the Knicks. They made it to the eastern conference simi finals that year too. Chicago fan base wanted melo to go there. Idk what you're talking about

Would he have a better chance than the Knicks? Of course, but it was still extremely unlikely where it’s not worth sacrificing money & comfort that he had in NY. It would’ve failed to deliver a championship. They fired Thibs and they hired Hoiberg to replace Thibs, how did that work? The Bulls weren’t winning sh*t with GarPax running things. Just a lot of logistical stuff that would’ve made Melo the scapegoat in the end.

He was the scapegoat on the Knicks. Even shump said in a interview that players knew to pass the ball to melo. If they shoot they better make it bc that was melo team. He even said melo would take all of the blame for losing and his teammates bc he knew he had the ultimate green light to shoot. Everything you said would happen in Chicago happened to him in new york except he didn't have another star like jokim, rose or butler

I just feel like that was a better basketball option than the Knicks at that time. Especially since he kept saying he wanted to win and it wasn't about the money. The bulls were a playoff team at that time. The Knicks weren't even close. They just could offer the most money.

Even with d rose hurt they had Jimmy, prime taj and prime jokim. All defense and rebounds which would be perfect for melo to be a completely offensive minded player

Let’s not forget Melo wanted to play for the Knicks because it was his life time dream and all his family and friends there.

Sometimes as fans we forget how important other things outside a celebrity career is to them. Even if he knew odds stacked against the Knicks to get a chip if it happen it would of been his ultimate goal and mean more than if had with another team.

Im gonna say Carmelo on the Nuggets too. People say all kinds of things about him not being a team player and theres some truth to that but what k*lled that Nuggets team was injuries every year. It seemed like their bigs always got hurt...Birdman, Kmart and Camby. If not for injuries Melo probably would have had more 2nd round appearances

Hakeem was fortunate to get his 2 rings but after the Rockets lost in the 86 finals his supporting cast kept getting worse. The Rockets had some years where they probably would have been the worst team in the league without Hakeem but he still got them to the playoffs every year except the 1991-92 season. Obviously the Rockets finally made some good moves in the early to mid 90s

TMac...another player who would have had more success if not for his teammates often being injured

Poor Drew Brees

Had 1 good defense and won it all

Mfers couldn't never put together a fckn defense until his arm was shot

All he needed was a top 15 defense

Bruh should have at least 2 or 3 chips

I won’t say HE has wasted his best years, as a 2x back to back MVP he clearly still has it!!!! Only 4 INTs last season…

But i will say that the PACKERS organization has wasted a lot of his great years by not acknowledging problems and letting them linger for just too damn long. They had a trash defense always smh our defense costed us many many MANY games that Rodgers bailed us out in. Defense came through and fu*ked it up.

Hail Mary against the cardinals with 0:00 on the clock, Rodgers scrambled and hits Richard…. Cards get the ball and Fitz runs the fu*k outta us smh

Iverson never wanted to play in a systembwe gotta stop making excuses for these stars.

Alot of yall favorite players wouldn't have the same numbers on a good team and would be more accountable and exposed.
