Feels like the biggest rappers are either jacking their sound or coming to them for features. What yíall think is the D on the rise and getting the attention they deserve or nah

Great observation. Everyone is slowly hopping on the wave absolutely. In all honesty, Drake would benefit from a ENERGY x Wayne produced heaterz.

Shoutout YN Jay on that new tape.

Nope

I can’t wait till this little trend is over. A lot of that sound is a bunch of noise. That’s why the game so dry right now cause everybody rappin over these sh*tty knock off Detroit beats. Vezzo literally raps on the same beat over and over. I fu*k with some of the Detroit cats like Rio and Mike sometimes but other n*ggas need to leave that sound alone.

I hate these fu*kin beats

He's not for everyone. He's just witty. Certain context, it's fire. And with productions, he gets sheesh

You are not alone. I even have to admit the Detroit sound is polarizing, they always say we rap over "Video Game beats" and the BPM are fast like too fast lol. I actually stayed away from the Detroit sound for years myself, then I started to listen to them for real like lyrically and it definitely grew on me.

I will say even though the beats may not be your style some credit is given for the fact it is 100% homegrown, the D doesn't have a Berry Gordy anymore so it's just a bunch of self taught cats, home studios and networking that built this, in a city that gets trashed by the typical American. NO HELP JUST GETTING IT OUT THE MUDD!

The first video is Peezy, dude delivery ain't for everybody but he be talking choppy as fu*k.

The last two videos are my peoples. Like for real for real. I keep it low but I been on the Detroit scene for over a decade, let the homies run with it. When I pop out they show me love for the sh*t I made from 06-11.

It's not a trend though @S-Class it's actually a staple, it's just that people outside of the region (that don't live in Cali or the Westcoast) are now starting to learn about the sound. So even if it comes and goes nationally, it will have a core base because of the exposure over the last few years. But this sound is old in the city...

Em knows...

After Rio, Louie the best outta Flint. He be smoking Jay on every song but Jay just so animated it stands out.

Taking everything into consideration this is the essence of hip hop. Just some real hood n*ggas making it out the hood off of music. I gotta respect it.
