I was about to ask, why all these big artists sellin their masters. Is somethin' brewin' behind the scenes in the music industry, that we dont know about..... yet.

they arent really selling

what they are doing is combining their music with others that have already have and becoming shareholders of a larger pot.

its smart really
now you have one entity in charge of monetizing you collection along with others and you revenue share off a larger pie.

I really wanna know why so many big artists are doing this now? Some even have been lowballing themselves in the sales...

It's kind of suspicious because wouldn't you want to keep your catalog for future family generations to prosper from. They know something..

These artists will never see this type of money upfront owning their masters and this company is willing to pay

Companies #Hipgnosis and #BlackstoneInc partnered in October 2021 with a $1 billion pledge toward buying music rights and managing catalogs. Together, the businesses launched Hipgnosis Songs Capital as the vehicle for acquirement and management.

Do y’all ever ask yourself who’s still listening to some of these artist? A lot of older acts ain’t getting streamed like that. There’s taking the bag now.

You’re bugging. Go to any 25/20 club and you’ll here a song, or at karaoke night. That’s like asking who’s still playing Brittney Spears. That level of pop hits different.

Regardless, It's still a decent stream of revenue if you were a popular artist. JT is definitely still getting spins and making good money off it

So y’all gonna play JT on here now like y’all do Eminem I see. If he crunched the numbers and that $100 million is more than his streaming revenue from now to the numbers dropping off in say the next 20 years he made the right move!
