Exactly what I was gonna say lol. The land is still gonna run you a grip especially in major cities. On top of that how do the permits work as far as getting electricity, gas, plumbing, etc.

And don’t even get me started on resale value lol.

You have to finish the shed.

Drywall, electric, insulation, plumbing, foundation, hvac, and who knows what hoops your local government is going to make you jump through in order to put it on a piece of land (permits, type of foundation, etc.).

A single wide trailer might be a better option since people will give them to you free if you haul them off their land (Moving a trailer will cost thousands of dollars), they're already wired for electrical, have plumbing, hvac, and in a lot of places you can place them on concrete (like cinderblocks) footers with no issue.

It’s a “tuff shed” for a reason

My cousin owns one but he just uses it as a shed for his tools and etc.

He pondered the idea, but the maintenance is just to much to handle and he’d have to find another place to put his bikes and tools

You can’t get utilities run to something like this in a normal city. If you lived in the sticks and did it yourself.

Most permits wouldn’t let something like this count as a domicile.
