They're mad about their money.
Before, when boosters wanted to help their schools recruit they would donate money to the athletic department so that they could build nicer facilities, nicer dorms, have nicer food... and attract better coaches($$$)... so that they could recruit the best players and win. Coaches have been getting cut in. Now, boosters will probably start donating just enough to keep access to their season tickets and they'll send additional money to whatever unofficial booster fund is sponsoring players for that school. Meaning there is going to be much less money in these athletic departments. Which means coaches aren't going to be making Nick Saban money as often in the future. Saban and Dabo already have their megadeals and they'll be fine but they see the writing on the wall and they don't like players getting cut into the pie of booster money. That used to be their money as coaches! It's unfair! ![]() Last edited by Boogersugar; 05-19-2022 at 07:58 AM.. |

On another but related note, I’m curious to see how these NIL deals evolve over time. There are millions of student-athletes, they can’t all be shilling protein powder and raising canes. What’s the next plateau of this beyond these types of deals?

Once football starts going to this pay for play that's going to impact the other sports. How in the hell are those sports going to get funded?

Lot of those other sports don't even have scholarships to give. They'll have several players sharing one scholarship. It's sad. Pandora's box is only going to continue to open. It's only cracked right now.

Congress will have to get involved for something to happen. Yep. The lower tier schools that don't have football are about to be even more screwed. This has destroyed the JuCo level too.

Ncaa and the universities are still making hundreds of millions of dollars and not paying the kids nothing. The universities are still getting to make tons of profit without paying out nothing. The ncaa and the universities are playing the public and Saban, Fisher and all of them are playing roles Keep the attention squarely on NIL and people won't even think about how the ncaa is manipulating the situation Jimbo and Saban aren't really beefing....this sh*t a dog and pony show If you know you know

Most of you don't understand what's going on....Universities are using these head coaches to protect their monopoly....NIL is the NCAA baby, they love it. NIL let's them pretend players are getting compensation all the while the ncaa isn't paying anything and the average student athlete made under 40 dollars from NIL last season Cheering for NIL in its current format is cheering against the student athletes

the universities are using NIL to compensate under 2 percent of student athletes to escape having to PAY ATHELES FOR PLAYING Dabo, Saban, Fisher, etc etc etc etc are employees of these universities and NIL is absolutely great for the people they work for, They bicker, fuss amongst themselves and complain about NIL to make it seem like the student athletes are getting compensation to hide the fact these kids as a whole are being taken advantage of just as much as ever. You swear you are anti ncaa and pro student athletes, however, you literally are arguing and defending the vary thing that allows universities to continue not paying their players
