I mean, trading a bunch of pieces for one “superstar” is a pretty dumb gamble…. If that star doesn’t play at a 40 mil level every night, it’s a waste….. only a handful of superstars actually match their salaries on the floor…

Philly trade wasn’t nearly as stupid as the Lakers, but it was strange to see how many people expected Harden to suddenly be a MVP caliber player after the foul changes crippled his game

obviously drafting is hit or miss, players don’t always develop physically as projected because of injury or personal reason and signing players. But I don’t think there’s ever been a year where literally every playoff game on tv had a n*gga getting buckets that at one point was projected to play for my team. 1, 2, maybe 3 players? Sure. not literally everybody who got a highlight in sports center

The Tatum thing stands out more and more in my head because you already went and got a 6’11 none shooting pass first/slasher PG, why the fu*k would you then pick up a smaller none shooting slasher with no perimeter game instead of a long frame winger who can shoot the 3?

then you go and get an older, less athletic, less explosive, more offensively limited version of Tatum in Tobias Harris and you move on from a go to buckets/alpha in Jimmy Butler to keep the underachievers happy?

I see what you're getting at with this thread but this was obviously not 1 of their mistakes. Maxey should've never fell to 21st overall or whatever it was. They benefitted from p*ss poor decisions from the teams who picked before them in this situation.

You take Maxey with that pick 101/100 times. Look at some of the players picked before Tyrese.
