People that compare shows to the wire dont truly appreciate the wire.

Well the one thing about is imo I think ppl are only comparing the 1st season of Power which was steller.

As for ppl that big up the Wire it's interesting b/c it became an ingrained into the culture of TV Series way after it had finished.

I remember going to Blockbuster and a few local Movie stores renting the 1st season with my family VHS if course.

Damn near nobody knew about this show nor OZ at all. This was during the Black Box TV era.

The Wire became a phenomenon in like 2010. So a lot of folks talking about the genius of the show never saw how steller it really was when it was actually running on HBO.
