Nah there were Black (Colored/Negro) Heavyweights that called him out but he wouldn't f*ght them because he made more money being the "problematic" Black Champ and promoters would pay out big purses in hopes that he would lose his belt to the " Great White Hope". Look up Joe Jeanette. Matter of Fact watch the PBS special on Jack Johnson.

I now see that you were saying that Johnson wouldn't f*ght any other black f*ghters after he won the world heavyweight title, not just Sam Langford

There are a few Boxing historians who rank Sam Langford as the greatest boxer ever.

But for the record, Jack Johnson and Sam Langford fought prior to Johnson winning the world heavyweight title. Johnson won the f*ght. We don't know what would have happened in a rematch.

But I have not ran across a single boxing historian who ranks Johnson above Langford.

Other notable forgotten black f*ghters from that era that are great, are Sam McVey and Joe Jeanette (as mentioned previously in this thread).

Yeah, the video is unavailable on here. But it's a video about how supposedly Jack Dempsey and Jack Johnson didn't want to f*ght Sam Langford. It's by a YouTube channel named Rainy Day Boxing.

And as far as your edit goes, I read the rest of your posts (plus I've seen plenty of your posts in other boxing threads), and there is no way that I would be surprised at the depth of your boxing knowledge. I am not surprised that you wrote a paper on those gentlemen. Do you know how many times Langford and Jeanette fought each other off of the top of your head by any chance? I'm not remembering at the moment myself, but I know it was a lot.

I can't tell you off the top of my head without looking it up, I'm not Bert Sugar. That paper I did was over 10 years ago in college. My advice just go through a rabbit hole and try and find as many clips archives you can watch.
