she jumped in, she literally could of been 2 feet away from that hole it wouldnt matter, on top of it being pitch black outside.

You pretty much trapped if you get swept away because you can't just swim up to get some air due to the frozen ice blocking you. You gotta swim back towards the hole against the current in freezing water, and since it's at night it's pitch black so you have no sense of what's left or right when you're down there.

Yes I took a first responder class a few years back and the cop teaching it was a certified ice diver and talked about that. He told some story how 3 off duty firef*ghters had scuba tanks and went under the ice to practice on their off day.

They got disoriented and ran out of air and couldn’t find the hole they entered through and drowned. fu*ked up part is he said they were both found with broken necks. So while drowning/ suffocating they were trying to break through the ice with their heads and broke their necks.

Ever since I heard that story I don’t go hear frozen ponds or lakes
