whats the most satisfying game (or games) you've played?

when i say satisfying i just mean it did everything u wanted and then some and it was always enjoyable

the one that comes to mind for me is the evil within.. and i played it after a breakup and it actually helped me to not think about it (haven't played the sequel yet, but i do have it)

i felt like it did everything right.. survival horror, action, psychological horror, likeable protagonist, strategy, always had something different on deck at every turn, rpg elements, etc

and another thing is, the first playthrough i never even really used the bolts, because i didn't craft any ammo.. but on subsequent playthroughs i was like dang, i can actually do some damage with this bolt gun.. and i started crafting and implementing diff strategies

death Stranding Last of Us 2 and 13 Sentinels left me more than satisfied. I wanted more.

Metroid Dread is damn near perfect although the soundtrack kinda sucks. I haven’t gotten bored of it yet

cool pick on death stranding.. i started it and the complex menus basically ruined it for me and i quit the game

but i do want to pick it back up and try again.. it was very imaginitive but still not as crazy as the trailers made it look, once u play it and they explain everything

the game sold more than anyone expected

at this point we can't expect anything less than a 10 yr gap

When my brother and I beat Contra without cheat codes. It took us a minute to do it to.

That and finishing off an opponent in an SF Alpha tournament with the shun goku satsu. Lost a round trying to do it and he was running scared knowing what I was trying to do but I got his a*s and the crowd erupted. My wife thought I was a cornball but I didn't care.

If you can, wait to play the directors cut either on the 5 or when it drops for PC. They added a lot of dope sh*t.

Another game this thumbnail reminded me of was the Pathless. Very ill game to me and I love how they took away a lot of tools that make exploring areas in games real easy. I had a fun two weeks or so with that one and even enjoyed replaying it again

Playing mass effect series for the first time and it being the PS5 edition

Original Mass Effect 1, probably the most immersed I've ever been in a game. Incredible world building, atmosphere, music, loved everything about it even the unpolished combat. Don't know how to explain it but the OG just had a certain weight to it that 2 & 3 were missing despite still being good games in their own right.

I've never been a big story person so some of the most fun I've had with gaming is a lot of the old school games that didn't have much, if any, story.

Goldeneye would definitely be the game if I had to pick 1.

Def Jam Vendetta
The Division games

Doesn't matter the gen, I'll always return to these essential games.

Man I can't handle it, I get so fu*king mad everytime I get scared in VR, I hate being scared in general and in VR you can't escape it lol. As a grown man I do feel a little shame but fu*k that.

Dark Souls... easy.

In the sense that it was everything I wanted it to be and more - FF7 remake. I'd take that combat system in every AA-RPG from here on out with whatever tweaks necessary to tailor it to the game itelf.

In the sense that it gave me a bigger sense of accomplishment than any other game I've played - Bloodborne, it was my first soulsborne game so that's probably why I put it over the other ones since it was that much more difficult having no experience with it.

Definitely Demon’s Souls back in 2009 when that sh*t dropped before it got hot and gave birth to the souls borne craze.

I played that game in my second language learning about all the world tendencies and plethora of other game mechanics that weren’t seen before. I feel like I should have some type of certificate or some sh*t sent to me because back then before the wiki and everyone knew the ins and outs it really was a wild time and getting through was a real challenge. Now sadly everyone has those games cheesed before they even drop but I still love them!

Besides that all I can think of is Metal Gear Solid running through it with my brother on a rental one weekend with no memory card. Now I gotta loom up what happens at the psycho mantis bit while not having a memory card.

Anthem. Flying Robots incredible. The animations and gameplay is fluid af.

The RPG system is deep, you can break the game and have unique builds.

Game is phenomenal, they gave up way too soon.

Didnt need a 2.0, just needed to focus on the og plan.

The game as is, is fu*king phenomenal just no new content.

Sekiro (especially without the charm...whew)

Getting all the ultimate weapon pieces in FFX (F you chocobo race in the plains and thunder dodging)

Learning to fly in Rocket League (back in 2015/16 before the tutorials)

Holding down the team in a nightmare survival in ghost of tsushima

Woooooooo Evil Within went crazy! Glad to see it getting some love. The only real true spirtual successor to Resident Evil 4 in my opinion which would be my perfect experience with a game. I remember the day it came out I copped on gamecube beat the fu*k out the game, let the homie borrow it and found it scratched to hell cause his lil brother let it fall behind a dresser and the leg of the dresser pinned it to the ground. What a time to be alive.
