Python is goog to learn. I've been using angela Yu's course it's pretty fun. But I'm already in it industry making good money and I'm a sys admin so don't know if it's worth me trying to get into back-end development.

I used to fu*k around on code academy learning Java a while back but never ended up going anywhere with it. At the time I was making like 30k and now got a job making a lot more so I kinda pushed it to the side but coding has always intrigued me. It's either right up my alley with how my mind works, or it will make me lose it I'm not sure.

salute to whoever can learn it and become proficient, good on you.

but for the people who think they can just pickup a programming book and make those 100k salaries in a couple months you got another thing coming. programming is not easy, if it was everyone would do it and those salaries would be 40K.

Python is versatile. You can use it for cyber security, cloud, gaming, websites(with frameworks such as Django), and data.

Not impossible if your explicit about what your learning.

6 months of prep will get one interview ready for an entry role, two or 3 job hops later you will be at 100k.

A senior level developer can easily make closer to 200k depending on the city

I got the basic syntax down. I just don’t know where to go next. Tried messing with the django framework but it’s a lot to take it in. I feel like all I need is direction but I don’t know what to make.

Ok you should start learning data structures like array List, Queue, Maps, Sets

After that go learn algorithms they do go together so you can find a course that says data structures and algorithms

Next learn time complexity and the Bug O notations

Then start trying out different coding problems and building your own personal website

Once you can code easy - some mid level coding problems and you have your website/ resume then start applying

I watch videos daily on python and SQL. Hopefully I can find a entry level where I don’t need a lot of experience as to learn in the field.
