I feel like people are envisioning the future being like ready player one or some online world where people hang out. In reality I don’t see it moving that way at all. I see video games becoming more popular and more immersive, but I don’t see a large portion of the world going digital. So digital real estate seems like a total scam and would be controlled by the company who hosts the servers/admins the game. What happens when the wave moves from 1 company to the next. Essentially everything in that game you purchased is useless right? You can’t take a fortnite skin to Cod.

I completely understand now why people who come across the future or money don’t say sh*t to people

i could be eating my words in a few years but i still haven't heard a cohesive argument for buying any nft or even engaging with the metaverse at all

you're either buying something because you want to have it in a virtual world, or because you're hoping that its value will increase and someone else will eventually buy it at an inflated price, making you richer

i get the crypto-logic at play, but the utility of a currency is very different than the utility of a virtual outfit or apartment - who is the prospective buyer? who will ever buy a bored ape off of someone who currently has one? let alone a virtual apartment unit

i had someone try to explain that the metaverse would be good for holding virtual meetings and would eventually replace zoom/webex - this person does not ever have zoom or webex meetings and has no idea what he's talking about, and i can't help but think that's the case for most people pitching this stuff

Don't matter what you and I think, buy early in the wave, and sell in the middle of it, look for next wave, wash, rinse and repeat. The digital real estate I was talking about was for video games fam. I'm not going to be playing metaverse games but I'm investing a lil bit of extra money I can afford to lose in it.
