It starts at 3:18

This is 1988. Mixmaster Spade is on this mufu*ka doin melodic rap. And it sound EXACTLY like early NO bounce Juvi/Birdman type sh*t. And if it's not him who came up with this style first I'd like to hear yall opinions on who did!

This! Bounce music was originally started out as a concept that later became what it is today. It originally started out by freestyling to this instrumental created by a British born/Bronx Dj by the name of Derek B

And obviously you should already know about The Showboys from Hollis, Queens with the adlibs and samples from Triggaman

Blend them together along with somebody freestyling over it in a melodic fashion as a blues singer and there it is

Good find by OP. King T definitely fathered New Orleans style, this track is proof.

I think I remember some early Juvenile interviews where he said King T was one of his biggest influences.

You should be giving credit to mixmaster spade though , king tee never rapped like that

Rip mixmaster spade

But on another note, it’s publicly known BIG based he’s early style on king tee - if you listen to ready to die you can hear the influence

I remember this. This came out much later, mid late 90s. Peaches and Odessey Records both stayed sold out on the vinyl, the CDs were damn near $40 dollars at that time (they were already high as fu*k just on regular CDs, peaches still got some original rare bounce gems probably around $30 ish)

Yea fam I mentioned Mixmaster in the OP! But yup. Multiple sources confirmed that King T was one of his favorite rappers and a heavy influence on Ready To Die
