PS Classic's for simplicity.
PS1's plus a PSIO or a Terraonion Mode for native play of backup files.
PS2's with Free McBoot
PS3's with custom firmware.

Basically, each of those systems can easily be found for $20 (PS1 and 2) and PS3 for easily under $100 too.

Buuuuut, if you've also collected games on PSN over the years like I have, this is a HUGE win as an additional feature for PS5. Tack in Vita and PSP support, and this will essentially be a perfect move on Sony's end.

Might just be a collaboration. I mean I hope they get more BC, would really give the Ps5 more legs with the casuals. I also wouldn’t mind washing you n*ggas in NBA street or OG f*ght night

A lot of us purchase many PSN sh*t over the years on PS3, PSP, PS Vita, etc. Being able to use it on the PS5 will be a big thing. Right now, you can't.

Honestly, this should be something Nintendo should've done with their Virtual Console sh*t from the 3DS, Wii U, etc., but we know Nintendo ain't about that.

Sony though..... Lots of potential. Same if Xbox does something similar.

Why hasnt this BEEN a thing ?

Update: Just as we warned, it really wasn't worth getting excited over the PlayStation Japan tease — not unless you're a massive fan of popstar Kenshi Yonezu. The now infamous tweet was indeed teasing a new Japanese PlayStation advert — but it has absolutely nothing to do with backwards compatibility.
The numbers 1, 2, and 3 are lyrics in the advertisement — again, just as we had theorised.
Now look, we know everyone's eager to see what's next for Sony — ourselves included! — but the company clearly has a lot more patience than we do.

i knew that sh*t was possible the whole time, but they just wanted you to buy more consoles

now, give us QUICK RESUME. FPS BOOST, A REWARD SYSTEM LIKE MICROSOFT, LET US PLAY ON MOBILE, AND SONY GAMEPASS.
