EA is reportedly very disappointed with how Battlefield 2042 has performed and is "looking at all the options" when it comes to the title, this is including looking at Free to Play in some capacity.

EA kept pushing Dice to use the terrible frostbite engine when they wanted to use Unreal and this is what happens. It's always bug filled and it's way past its use. They need to just dead Frostbite.

Yea I’m ngl, I bought the expensive version and kind of regret it.. I was hyped af for this before it came out.. it’s not terrible but it definitely didn’t live up to my expectations..

Like a 5.5 or 6/10 to me..

sh*t straight to me, I don’t understand the hate this game and Vanguard get. Even Halo has stupid complaints. I’m glad I don’t take these games serious anymore

Frostbite is NOT the problem. The problem is the game directors. This game isn't anything like what Battlefield was known for. The game feels like a very empty shell of Battlefield.

Maps are empty, poorly distributed, overly simplistic and way over-sized. The concept of a squad is now meaningless. The "scoreboard" has been butchered. The level of detail is a HUGE step back from the past few BF titles. The mechanics are broken (something that felt great in BF1 & BFV...which are built on FROSTBITE).

EA exces are too busy chasing Fortnite and other F2P money printing games and tried to use the BF franchise to do so and failed miserably.

I've been a huge BF fan since BF3 and I'm typically engaged for hours when I play (all the way up to BFV, with the exception of Hardline), but I couldn't get into BF2042. After 1-2 rounds I was done. I haven't played since the beginning of December. It got to the point where I was ready for a round to hurry up and end because I was so boring, and I don't like to bail mid game.

This the wave now? Pubs just blame the devs like they didn’t ok the game to begin with?

He's probably talking about Hazard zone. That mode is the worst and probably struggles the most with players. That said, these updates are rolling out slow and pitifully and that's only going to continue to hurt the game. It doesn't help that they can't even do simple sh*t right such as a scoreboard. Some how they manage to even fu*k up the most basic of tasks. EA/DICE making unforced errors OG DICE would have never made. At the end of the day, EA/DICE made a Battlefield game that the fanbase didn't ask for trying to trend chase and it has backfired on them.

and the game is pretty fun
