Just got on this dry food kick, went crazy and added bunch to my cart on Amazon, about to trim it down and get the essentials

Gonna just keep dry food, couple of cases of water, emergency radio and few other items. Anything else to have? Already got guns on deck and buying ammo from academy damn near every 2-3 weeks just to keep tucked away

I use to keep a 48 hour bag near the door, incase I ever had to leave immediately it had a pair of clothes, a gun, some money, a phone wit the charger and pre paid sim card, water and some other sh*t so I can be out for at least 48 hours

Can't carry all that sh*t. I used to watch doomsday preppers and all that. These ppl would have a bunch of sh*t in the crib but if they had to leave... Best thing to have is the skills to survive without anything. How to gather water from leaves with a plastic bag, how to start a fire to eat what you caught, what's edible growing in the area you're in, how to stay warm and safe at night, how to navigate etc.

Good start OP! Seems like you straight to “Bug In”. Most folks want to roll out to the woods ASAP.
1. Can never have enough water at the crib. Or ways to make clean water out.
2. A good solid “Grab bag” that don’t look like a army type joint(grey man)
3 TRAIN with all that sh*t! Learn to make them meals. Practice getting dirty water, make it clean, start a fire of some sort, cook that sh*t. And CARRY your sh*t that you would take with you.
You don’t want the first time you use your sh*t to be when SHTF! And you find out what you trying to bug out with is too heavy. Hope you don’t need it, glad you got it tho!

I've always thought buying some stuff like this just in case something serious went down

It's like one of those things you don't buy it, because it's not an necessity well until you actually need it

When I lived in Texas I would have a bag, phone charger, gun, flashlight water bottle for my dogs and leash for the dogs incase a tornado or some sh*t hit.

I keep a bug out bag in the trunk. Hand and foot warmers, gloves, blankets, ponchos, dehydrated meals, water, lighter, flint, sparker (in case the lighter doesn’t work), first aide kit, hats, wool socks, and extra ammo.

people always thought I was weird for always keeping survival gear.

But my survival blankets literally saved my life when My city lost power for a week in the winter.

Be careful posting because people will flag you as an extremist

What does the dehydrator do exactly? Works for meats?

Yes...Removes all the Moisture and makes it shelf stable!

Beef/Chicken/Fish Jerky....Dried Fruits, Vegetables and can make Homemade Garlic/Onion Powders just to name a Few! Vacuum Seal on Top of that and you have Survival Food!

YESS...I saw a Tiny pack of Beef jerky for like $7.99, but instead bought a Lean cut of Steak, Sliced into Thin strips, Marinated it overnight, Dehydrated it for about
8-10hrs, and made a Nice Batch that came out WAAAY Better than
any Store-bought!

Yes. In addition to what you have posted, guns, had my house re-wired so that it could run off a generator in case of power outages, reserve tanks, and several ways to purify water . Like most people, when i bought my house I was considering having all my trees removed, but I recognized them as a valuable resource. I have two cast iron wood burning stoves, haven't installed them yet.
