This album has always been somewhat of an enigma to me

I was living in Hempstead LI around the time it came out..and man. It was fu*king comical how popular this album was in that area (Queens/LIC)... People would lose their damn minds at a party when some of these songs came on .. Meanwhile, the rest of NY seemed to like Lost Boyz but not really THAT much. (Years later I found out Lost Boyz was a real gang in Queens at the time, so I kinda somewhat get it now) ..Still, based on that alone and all the singles/videos this album had I was under the impression it was a Multiplatinum SMASH success... Come to find out the rest of the country didn't really fu*k with Lost Boyz like that and the album only went Gold. ..So yea I'm sure Queen and Strong Island cats on here gonna slap lol but I was genuinely curious to see how this poll would turn out overall.

LB Fam the gang was still running around strong in Queens in like 2007 when I was young. As for this album i always felt it was good but not a classic. Definitely has classic songs and singles but the overall album is not a classic. Nostalgic yes, classic no.

I was actually looking up spigg nice yesterday - he just got out of jail last year after 17 years or something crazy (was originally sentenced to 30+ years) for multiple bank robberies

I was living in new jersey when they dropped they singles to the tape

Moved down south to GA when the whole album finally dropped

It was a little underwhelming

Half of it is classic, if u combine the hot sh*t from they 1st 2 releases then yes u can make a WHOLE classic mix

Love the lost boys, Mr cheeks was on fire for a few years

THe lost boys is a classic movie as well

Was just bump'n this album the other day....yes

As an OG from that era, I agree with you.

I think it’s close to a classic, the lost boys music has aged better then artists that were more popular at the time. I understand lost boys is a group but what’s the point of the group? Mr cheeks raps, freaky tah is the hype man that does Adlibs and occasionally raps, what did spigg nice and pretty lou do? Did they ever make beats or rap on any songs?

..I was going to mention this in the OP as well. Their label had to be completely fu*king retarded pushing the album back that far (June '96???), I remember hearing "Lifestyles of the Rich and Shameless" on the radio as early as Late-1994.. Album should have out by Summer of '95 at the LATEST I wonder if the group was upset about that (I'm guessing they had to be).
