One of his goals this year is directly tied to accolades—he wants to break away from the three-way, GS tie between himself, Nadal, and Federer. Unsure how he’s going to do that if countries enforce stricter regulations.

Well sure, there’s other things in play but he did just try to to skirt around Australia’s regulation so he’s obviously trying to achieve his goal (accolades).

He doesn’t want to get vaccinated since he believes it will affect his on-court performance but that will be null if he can’t play in the majors and maybe other tournaments he’s interested in. Something will give here and it’s clear that he wants to play.

And there’s this piece of news that has publicized now given Joker’s situation:

What’s wrong with saying he tried to skirt around a vaccinate mandate by showing a medical exemption? Didn’t say he lied

I do wonder what would’ve happened if it was Federer or Nadal who provided an exemption.
