That's how dope music is made. You feel a way about something you make a song about it. That's how most art is created in general.

It was abt the West dumbing down the conscious era with the rise of the gangsta rap subgenre coming to the forefront... and Common felt like NWA was the prototype for the rest of the wild sh*t coming out of the west, the Blood and Crip albums, death Row's commercial Success, and then Cube at OG status, being the face of it...
Cube basically been trying to tell Common and other's to get the Beef-Stick for a nice while, particularly because of the Common Record... as he addresses those general sentiments in "...Used to Love H.E.R." on this opus with the good brother Face... |

they literally just introduced a new subgenre of rap, and son was salty ushering in a new era is not "dumbing down" the previous it's even more ridiculous because this was during the GOLDEN ERA Last edited by Ruga's Rib Shack; 01-17-2022 at 06:58 PM..

It's like a breath of fresh air when BX actually posts hip hop sh*t in this section
![]() Edit: OP you trippin tho n*gga this song is a classic, the beat ![]() I think Common was moreso speakin on it from a substance matter which is understandable but I'm pretty sure Common don't feel the same today now that we've seen the real bottom of this sh*t (white bi*ches coming in the game rappin dumb sh*t, n*ggas making mockeries of the genre, etc.) Last edited by Solitary Genius; 01-17-2022 at 07:00 PM.. |

the substance sh*t is one of the biggest misconceptions of rap the only sh*t without substance is people rapping about rapping itself rapping about women weed and weather is still substance, it's part of life
