![]() lyfe Jennings tells stories of how irv gotti wanted him to sell his soul for a deal.
I lost all respect for irv gotti. This dude talks about how he thinks 50 sold his to the devil. and the devil allow 50 cent to stay alive because he is such a evil person. and he clowns on southern rap and dumb a*s music. yet he does some clown sh*t by forcing lyfe jennings to throw away his all his positive messages in his first album and make some idoit music to appeal to black music audience. and told him that he want him basically do gangsta rnb and booty shaking club stereotypical bi*ches, cars, clothes and drugs music. lyfe said he was about to sign but then he tells him at the last minute. because irv gotti was trying to lightly make him nervous by saying if you do not sign this contract. i am going to sign This singer from New orelans named Lloyd. he said irv gotti offer him the most money at of all the labels and he was so disgusted and horrfic. and turned it down. and call sony and told them he wanted to do the deal. he did not say. just one single or street single. he wanted to change lyfe jennings whole image and music. good thang lyfe jenning did not sell his soul for money. because what crazy is 50 cent came and the feds case took murder inc down. now i really think karma got irv gotti and took him down. after all the shady sh*t he done to producers, ashanti,Lloyd and lyfe and just blaze. karma came to collect. maybe since irv gotti was such a evil dude. that was god making karma happen to him.

he said we going get rid of all the sh*t you gor. get rid of all the sh*t you got. and give them some idot music. lyfe said what? irv told him yo sh*t is just too deep. its too emotional, sad, educational and you have the back story. the image and look. we have to give them some idoit music. one the first album. give them something they can understand? then on the second or third album you can do what ever to take yourself to the next level.

This is what Krazy Bone was talking about, what RZA was Talking about and a Bunch of others were saying about how the Major Companies were telling the Labels to Dumb down the Music!
I still believe that Wu-Tang Forever album was the last straw when it came to Conscious Rap...This is around the time that the "Big Wigs" started to pay attention to the Lyrics and was like "H#ll NAW"! |

Selling his soul no, sacrificing his artistic integrity is more like it but what do you expect from a dude who ran a label called “murder Inc”? Surely he would’ve known what type of music they were producing there wasn’t the most deep and profound stuff. Respectfully.
Also say whatever you want to say about Irv but the man clearly knew what type of music the market place was after as far as commercial success goes. You can listen to the radio or just come here to see that the people love low vibration music. It is what it is. In my opinion he should’ve took the deal, made a couple bs records then when it’s time to renegotiate tell them what you really want to do and do that. A lot of artists come out doing bs first and then do what they really want to do later on. Pink is an example that comes to mind. Salute to him for choosing his integrity though. I just think sometimes you have to take a short term L to get a long term W down the road. Just my opinion though. Last edited by GodBody; 01-17-2022 at 08:27 PM.. |

So it’s a problem when Irv does it but not Steve Rifkind, Elliot Grainge, Lyor Cohen, Todd moscowitz, Dave geffen, Clive Davis, tommy mottola, Doug Morris, etc.
Hip hop is what those guys say it is. Why don’t these artists who are willing minstrels in promoting consumerism and glorifying violence/ignorance call these guys out. Irv is small fry. |
