Cam made him change the album to Curtis and he had to push the album back to the same day as kanye to build some hype

I think that came later tho. I get money had more radio support in the new york stations, flex was playing it heavily. Then he had the remix with Diddy and jay

The Curtis album did good for the time. This was the last chapter of his commercial peak..

This song was also a bigger push because it was released RIGHT after he got that 100 million dollar payout

Curtis was still trash. It was over from there. Considering how on top he was still in 2005 his career died very, very fast. Might be the biggest fall off ever.

But it’s a song he made, not a song given, written for him etc..
so he just continued to do what he did, made dope song and stayed on track of his career it seems to me.

If you lived it, you remember.

50 couldn't buy a hit around this time and this single brought him back to life and made the Kanye fued possible. Ayo Technology was a nice pop track that came after - but without this, that might never have been released.

And then after that, he's back to searching for a hit for his next album - Before I Self Destruct. Get Up and some other attempts flop so in a bit of desperation he ends up sampling I Get Money for a single with Ne-yo - but that didn't do well and that was the end of 50 as a top charting artist.

I love 50 but no lies told by OP.

Nobody outside of the tri-state area was listening to NY radio back then. Most people heard "I Get Money" from the video being played on BET. Than it got turned into the whole 50 vs Kanye thing on who would sell more.
