It’s a good show with discrete commentary on important issues. They don’t hit you over the head with it. Will keep watching.

As a teacher, sh1t was real. It was funny, and played to real issues teachers have.

I'm gonna keep up and support. Happy to see how far Quinta Brunson came up and to see Auntie Sheryl Lee Ralph still working.

Quinta's character reminds me a lot of my friend and coworker Zoe who died in the beginning of the Covid pandemic

You mention all these crime/anti hero shows like we don't have several black anti hero shows on TV (snow fall, power, BMF etc.)

We get a show that's not about race or drugs or h0es just teachers tryna make it at a sh1tty school and the teachers just happen to be black. But now it's a problem.

People say we tired of seeing black people as slaves, we tired of seeing black trauma. We get a show with none of those tropes but it's still a problem.

Hanging with Mr Cooper was 30+ years ago now. The Steve Harvey Show was 20+ years ago. Other than those two what was the last show focused on black educators. I wouldn't put Boston public in that convo because it wasn't a "black show" even though but even that is 20 years old now.

This is just one of many aspects of black life that should be televised. You can call it a low bar but stop thinking about what its doing for the white general public and just think about how black people receive these images of themselves on the screen.
