The whole "lazy stoner" stereotype is just that, a stereotype, and not indicative of everyone that smokes weed. In fact, Insider reports that according to a meta-analysis conducted in April 2021, cannabis users were actually more likely to work out than their weed-free friends.

Researchers out of the University of Colorado Boulder are looking to study the potential benefits of lighting up and hitting the gym right after—some believe being high makes working out easier and more fun.

Here's the real kicker, though: You could get paid to be a part of it. The group of researchers is currently looking for men between the ages of 21 and 40 and women between the ages of 21 and 50 to partake in a little Mary Jane before hitting the treadmill. According to the company site, each recruit will snag $100 for participating in the study

You can email or call the team about signing up. Once chosen, you'll be put to the test with three sets of treadmill workouts—two sober, one high. Researchers will follow up the fitness a*sessment with surveys and bloodwork.

To participate, you must fall within the age requirements and live in the greater Boulder area. The university is also asking for individuals that have previously used cannabis while exercising

I used to do that when I was a lot younger. The negative effects of weed don't always become apparent until or unless you've been using steadily for a long time. I still smoke here and there, but the sh*t gives me anxiety in public now and forget about doing anything active, once I get baked I'm not doing sh*t lol. I've been smoking on and off for over 20 years, with a ten year period where I smoked dank every damn day.

I'm an everyday user since high school(35 now), but I only smoke with the wife at night when kids go to bed. It's also my job, so I agree and disagree with what you say. Some people(not you) just can't help themselves and fu*king smoke 24/7.

They used to have this ad on the back page of the village voice. A blackbook filled with universities that paid weed smokers for various studies. Gotta ask yourself, ultimately who is funding this and why... this was back when most sh*t wasn't hydroponics. Now it's the reverse. Most sh*t is grown that way.

That's how my ex wife was, 24/7 that sh*t was too much. Everyone's different though and you have to realize what works for you and what doesn't. Right now for me I'm better and more productive just staying sober so I don't even keep sh*t at home to tempt me.

i've been regularly burning & lifting now for almost four years, and I can attest that it is 100% the truth. Tried it by itself, with preworkouts (pre-made and powdered mixes), yerba mate, beet extract and coffee over the years each to varying positive effects. It isn't for everyone, but if you balance it right you will see results.
For context im 31 and have been training since I was 18. Didn't start smoking regularly until i was 23, and didn't make a habit of this until I was 26.

I vape leaf daily; I do 2000 cal workouts 3 days a week & at least 500 cal workouts on work days. It helps with recovery. I’m damn near never sore. I drink coffee & water as a pre-workout. This has been my routine for 15 years.
