Why would you willingly walk in to a place where employees are walking out?

I think the wildest thing I read about this whole incident is that team were being promised raises that would hit this month or next month and then the next thing they found out from management was they were being terminated. It's atleast after Christmas, but thats still sh*tty.

That other company that was on the news this morning...Better.com I think? Their President laid off hundreds of people via a quick zoom call with all of them the other day, effective as of that call. That sh*t was wild

ok, this makes it different, if they were promising bonuses and raises and then ended up letting staff go that is completely sh*tty

hey it takes more balls to fire someone via a call than an e-mail...which is how my employer has been letting people go since the pandemic started

That's literally every corporate ideology. This isn't like the John Deere situation. Most coders are outsourcing Indians or folks in the Philippines to do their respective works. It's not too hard to grab some folks from boot camps or graduates of computer science. Or just contract out alof folks who've become independent contractors since the pandemic.

All this AFTER having them relocate from LA to Wisconsin out of their own pocket to work on-site at their studio there. Imagine telling your family we have to move to Wisconsin and then getting laid off shortly after.

Activision dirty af

just read the story, its crazy but with this new phase of remote working, most companies had to adjust to with covid I only imagine more companies may be looking to trim the fat that cuts into their bottom line.

The savings in infrastructure costs already trim the fat. That doesn’t make sense.

And that better.com incident happened after they got a $77M cash infusion. Good ol Murican capitalism.
