Not a bad idea.

I am looking at those E36 and E46 BMWs restored and electrified with that Tesla HP might be s*xy.

I like the E63s too but I think that's when the handling got all goofy. But a All Black E63 M6 electric HP car sounds bananas.

How efficient will it be though? These old cars aren’t aerodynamic and you’re looking at adding around 1000 pounds to the car for the battery. I doubt they’ll be daily drivers.

Definitely a good point. I would recommend going with coupes along the lines of a dodge stealth or Mitsubishi 3000gt. Minivans would be worth it as well for local car pooling to school or for mail service. A lot better than spending tax money on a fleet of delivery trucks thatíll be expensive to produce and expensive to keep maintained.

250 miles per charge ain't a bad idea.

These charging stations would have to be more common though.

I wonder how much a charge is when you pull up at a station with an electric vehicle.

yup I been watching a few vids on youtube about cats making cars into ev vehicles.

I copped a tesla last year, amazing type of car which got me sold on ev in general now. My next whip will probably be another EV but will see what the best available is at that time. The competition is starting to heat up with many options from diff brands now, will def take advantage of federal & state ev rebates while theyre still out there as well.

Classic cars are not for long road trips so electrifying them makes perfect sense. Recently went full EV and not looking to go back to combustion engine.

I may be wrong but this is my logic

1. They are slowly forcing people to switch from gas to electric vehicles
2. Electric vehicles must be charged, what if you live in an apartment? Not alot of places have outlets nor want to cover the liability if someone injures themselves over cords.
3. It takes roughly 20+ minutes to fully charge your car
4. Only Tesla has an interconnected charging system...other brands charging systems have been known to fail once people get there on 20% charge so they have to travel 10+ miles to reach the next location (hopefully that location can charge)
5. Gas prices are going up. This will only drive up gas prices
6. Its not convienient nor faster to travel electric than gas although electric has higher mileage...The time it takes to fully charge them while roadtripping defeats the purpose compared to taking 2 minutes at a gas station.
7. If you get in an accident your car is totalled.
8. Blackouts will be common if govt doesnt see the effects
9. Lithium mining is dangerous
10. Your bill will go up, they will eventually charge you to charge your car
10.

always been a proponent of this idea but i thought the old chassis aint suitable for the battery bed

i want to develop a modular chassis coupled with EV drive train that you can just "marry" your favorite old school shell and interior on top
