I haven’t heard a rapper use “Twirl” since we didn’t deserve such a effortless goat image

I’ve always wondered what the backstory was behind Big’s verse. Like, was it a leftover from Life After death that was later added to this song, or did they originally record it like that. I remember this song being out while Big was still alive, but for some reason I don’t remember his outro being on the early versions I heard (I could be wrong or misremembering, it’s been over 20+ years).

One of the greatest verses of all time, and Biggie has a few more.

I'm not sure the exact timeline, but it is weird.

I'm pretty sure in that recent Charli Baltimore interview Baltimore said that BIG recorded his Benjamins verse on that same LA trip when he got murdered. (He'd just gotten out of the hospital after fracturing his leg in a car wreck.)

I'm not even going to try to piece what all happened when together, but I'm 98% sure Baltimore said that.

That makes sense though. It doesn’t really fit the Life After death sound and sounds like a loose track, so I can see it being recorded for some other project. Plus it has the Donnie Brasco reference, which came out in 97’ and was said to be the last movie Biggie watched in theaters. I think he went to the premier or something.

But I guess that explains the line about leaving his East coast girl with the Bentley.

This was the remix and I think Big was already gone which is why he's on a diff beat

What i always wondered is what was that verse supposed to be for cuz it was a few songs back then using that same sound

Mind u back then it was weird for 3 diff artist with 3 diff songs to have the exact same beat

BIG just stacks bars on bars when he raps like he can rap for 10 15 minutes straight and you’d still be captivated

I just realized it probably took biggie 3-5 minutes to probably freestyle and memorize that whole verse. What's even crazier is Big never wrote down one thing; it was just spit it straight out of his Mental Rolodex.
Biggie was super talented and a major loss to the Culture.

Major, rap lost some megastars that ended up harming the genre

Imagine James Brown, Miles Davis, Nat King Cole, Aretha Franklin, Micheal Jackson, Bob Marley, Prince, Ray Charles etc getting murdered after just a couple albums. A tragedy
