Much the NY and LA, Toronto and Van are the most expensive housing markets on Canada by far. Montreal is at least 30% cheaper to buy a house, but that’s because Chinese/foreign investment (which is what’s really driving up housing prices) isn’t much of an issue in MTL. Chinese real-estate investors have been fvcking up the markets in Canada for well over a decade now. Chinese citizens can only sign a 99 year lease in China, (ie: home ownership is non-existent in China as the CCP owns everything) so many wealthy Chinese diversify their investment portfolios by adding Canadian real estate to their a*set mix.

Same sh*t happened in California markets . These Chinese f*g**ts are gentrifying America and white folk are too fu*king stupid/corrupt to give a sh*t.

If you not a Canadian or American citizen you should not be able to buy a house in that country.

Sold our townhouse in rural Ontario for $62,000 over asking. Bought it for $430,000 3 years ago and sold for $712,000.

Bought a new build last summer right before the prices started going way up. still waiting for it to be built.

b, i live in GTA brampton....

that's helluva good deal, my cousin build his (what would considered to be a mini mansion in Toronto) house, like 5 garage, wrap around upper/lower patio, walk out basement, 5 bedroom, 3/4 bathroom, outside hot tub with roof, and swimming pool in lower sacville for less than 250/300k

i hate yall n*ggas, and yall wouldn't be successful enough in Toronto to live like that out here.... makes me jealous, i hate yall.

gotta be a millionare these days just to buy an average house out here in the gta, smh.

and i ain't no bum, i make over 26/hr and have a 5 figure savings... if this was 7-10 yrs ago my lil 5 figure savings would have been enough to secure a house on my own... but these days if you want a decent mortgage under 2500$/mth you gotta put down like almost 25% for downpayment...

and again, i hate yall n*ggas who live bum fu*k no where where cost of living is low and yall live like kings but bored out your mind from lack of activities.

Have you been to Scotia? Nothing boring at all about it here. If you like being outside, there's alot of dope hiking spots to see.

This is 30 mins outside Halifax where I'm from

What part of Nova Scotia bro? What's the diversity situation looking like there? I was looking at home prices up there last year and was intrigued.

I'm living in Halifax right now and housing here is expensive for the province but I got land 45 mins outside the city, where I grew up and housing there is better. Bought a house for my mom, 3 bedroom, 3 level, 1 bath and 24,000 sqft property for $110k. Using the back lot (10,500 sqft) to build my house on

The diversity is good now. Some of the oldest black communities in Canada and they made it easier and quicker for immigrants to get their PR so there's lots coming in which is dope.

Just FYI, the Premier is talking about adding a tax for non-nova Scotians buying houses here if they don't live here. It's rumored at $2 per every $100 dollars spent or something to help calm the housing prices that have been rising since the pandemic started due to all the people in Toronto buying houses here and raising the prices by like 250% and sh*t

Whats the high cost? Building the house if you own the land? In New jersey your paying for the land. But if you own the land, 250k for a 3 bedroom house is insane. I would sub out all the work myself and save a ton of money.

The bank is budgeting and getting me approved for 250k so it'll probably be less but that's the max they think it should be. Honestly could probably get it done for like 180k or so but it depends on if the cost of the products are still super high due to the pandemic.

5 years ago, I could have built the same house for $130k. I just hope by next year all the material shortages are gone and back to normal prices so I can use the other $120k for upgrades and fixing up the land

In any city run by liberals in Canada the housing market is on fire. Like 1 million for a sh*t hole bungalow wedged between 2 crack houses and barely any property.

Canada is destroying itself slowly but surely.

Ive always had that same belief but more on a local level. A lot of northerners are moving down south and driving the locals out. Out of towners should have to pay some type of tax. Or if you donít want to penalize the incoming residence give tax breaks/incentives to the locals to level the playing field.
