WTI is over $84 which means we may see a boom in the oilfield soon again so strike while the iron is hot. The pay is no where good as it used to be but depending which service company you work for, it's still a great, enjoyable, low stress job with many perks for example I became the highest level reward member at Marriott, IHG, and Choice Hotel properties all in 1 year. I get enough time off each month to travel with my sons all over the US and world staying at hotels for free because of the hotel reward points I've accumulated.

No technical skills or advanced education needed. Many of the people in the field who are doing well for themselves have nothing more than a high school diploma or GED.

Maybe your sick of the politics of a corporate environment or dealing with the public like myself. This job is perfect for you. For the most part, everyone keeps to themselves and leave you be as long as you are doing your job.

Anyway just passing the word.

$60,000 to $100,000 if unskilled, alot more if you are a valuable a*set. Go to indeed.com search up oil and gas for the answers you seek.

I’ve known a lot of “roughnecks” on the oil patch. The job is dangerous, has a lot of idiots on crews. Many cats lose a digit, or maybe gets gassed, or some work place accident. Shts filthy as hell, Crazy hours where you work 2 weeks on 1 week off more or less. So some tend to use meth to keep going. They make great pay for awhile yes. It is a good career if ya can work your way up. You usually start as the “worm” and it’s a hard bunch with a lot of sht talk, and hazing at first until you prove yourself. There’s also a reoccurring theme when they work for a awhile or whatever. They come back from working pockets fat with money. But a tricked out crazy vehicle right away, something happens and their shut down. Their vehicle has to go back, or is repoed.
If ya do a good job, dependable, can take the elements , razzing, staying far away from home, filth, work your way up to maybe “tool pusher”, stick with it, and maybe make a career. Just knew lots of cats that bragged about how great a job it was, and it didn’t amount to much.
Maybe OP area a different story.. just giving what I’ve seen from it.

Is it? You mind adding on to this bro?

What are the amount of hours worked daily?

Why was it dangerous?

Where they had you at?

And how long did you work there?

prolly would try out if i dont got bags. the thing is, once u save up, pretty much the only option is to start your own business. when you on a path where u dont got a career after this stint, i dunno about the likelihood of success if u start your own business

I got offered 100k to work in the field 4 years ago. Mind you I was making like $13 an hour back then.

I just said nah. I know myself too well and I’d be miserable.

This one of the most dangerous jobs in the world, OP should have mentioned that. One of the nastiest and most dangerous jobs you can think of.

I had a friend a long time ago who worked on the rigs out in the sea. People lose limbs and fingers consistently doing oil work, let alone injuries. All the equipment you work with is unruly, unwieldly and unforgiving.

One mistake and that's a wrap folks. @

Tell the truth, fam.

I’m in oil & gas. Been in it for 4 years. It’s fun and I make in a month what most make after 2+ months of work. Only downside is time away from my son and I can’t really settle down with one woman right now. I been trying to leave but the money keeps me around. Contrary to popular belief, we don’t all work physically demanding positions. It’s sometimes dirty, but like I said, it’s fun. You meet all types of characters. Idiots don’t last too long either. Had to fire one this week.

ive heard mixed reviews. we have a lot of oil field guys that come work for us during their slow times and it’s ranged from guys loving it to guys that died as soon as they started work there again. the money is fu*king ridiculous, the work is hard and can be unsteady and drugs are extremely prevalent and potent……..
