2022 Honda Civic Si Sedan

Honda finally released the 2022 Honda Civic Si.

Upgrades over touring model, 200hp 1.5 turbo motor, auto rev match from Civic Type R, stiffer suspension, bigger brakes, lighter flywheel, upgrade sport bucket seats, Si logo and red stitching and accents on interior. Exterior is basically blacked out accents ,rear trunk spoiler,18" wheels, and Si emblems front and rear. Also dual coil exhaust yielding 27% more flow than the touring model with functional dual tips in back.

I was thinking they would bump up this turbo motor over the touring 180hp to at least 225-230hp.A tune after purchase could help with some hp numbers with Hondata or KTune I would think.

No pricing yet, any thoughts, could Honda have done more with the Si? This trim level has been at around 200hp since 2006.I love the interior, VERY tempted if its sub $26k.I have about $10k in equity in my current Civic Si thanks to making extra payments on principal, and the current market.

$27k for 200Hp
Bought my Acura RSX with 200Hp in 2002 for $24K
So with inflation being the way it is - this car is significantly cheaper
Interior is very nice
They have that Type -R that has 300Hp
guess they want to make a clear distinction

Civics dont compete with BMWs. Also, there's more to a sports car or "sporty" car than power. That's just one component. Also, Hondas are vehicles you buy and keep for many years, most German cars, you lease and get a new one every 3 years. They're like cell phones.

BMW are trash, made with such sh*tty parts but you pay like that shot is quality.

Honestly as long as you buying a newer bmw you really don’t worry about reliability. I’ve had my 4series for 2yrs now. Haven’t had any major repairs. My brakes and tires are due sometime next year and even though I know that will cost me a lot I get to spread it and do them when I feel like.

I’m not saying there’s nothing wrong with civics. The reason I clicked on the thread because I’m currently looking at getting that for my girl. They’re very good and reliable cars. I have a bmw because I actually enjoy the drive and handling and I’m not really worried about reliability.

Sounds like you have unwarranted innate hate for a car line that is still very highly ranked and adored by many car enthusiasts. There is a reason you still see a lot of them on the streets if they were as sh*tty as you described, no one would purchase them.

Not entirely true, most BMW owners lease so you never really see the issues that occur down the line. Two years isn't really a good a*sessment of car reliability, that's on average 30K miles. Not even out the warranty yet. What happens 4 to 5 years when that warranty is up? Ching-Ching.

People buy BMW for the name, same as Mercedes and to some extent Audi.BMW makes some great driving cars, dont get me wrong, but ANY German car you buy or finance for 5 years, you better have some bread stacked for service and repairs.

I will never ride German,I prefer reliability since I hold onto cars for more than the average person.I do understand the draw of the German cars though.
