say what you want, but late 90s ICP live show was some sh*t for the books

i'd heard about these 2 white dudes from Detroit who had long-ass dreadlocks, painted their faces like clowns and did hard rock/metal influenced horrorcore rap, that's all i knew

when i saw them on the local national venue roster i went to check it out, but somehow the nature of the show was kept secret, the internet was still in diapers

the place is packed, a minute or 2 before showtime, bouncers start flashing their flashlights to each other and the 2 bouncers by me, start scrambling to put on what looks to be a poncho

i'm thinking wtf?! why would he be putting on poncho?

the show starts, a minute or so into the first song, i see one of the dudes on stage with something, is that a 2 liter of soda?

and the next thing i know these dudes are lighting the crowd up with Faygo, no one was safe, they had super-soakers for the people in the back, and they didn't fu*kin let up, it was relentless, but still choreographed

the show was very impressive, highly choreographed, at least 4 set changes, several extras in costumes dipping in and out, all very structured, the hour went by real fu*kin fast, the whole thing was closer to a movie than a concert

when the lights came on, instead of the traditional smell of smoke and booze back then, the entire place smelled like sugar or cotton candy and everyone was soaked

it's still mindblowing to me that no one in the audience knew it was coming and it's really hard to believe the venue was cool with it, i mean, the place was wall to wall dripping fu*kin Faygo

then, trying to explain it to people, no one believed it, rapping clowns with dreadlocks that spray 100s of gallons of soda everywhere? foh lol

This is such a generic insult. Name a genre of music or artist that doesn't have obese fans that do drugs and drink what the artist says they drink.

The best concert I've ever been to was an ICP show. It was epic and I went home high as fu*k covered in faygo.

They're doing their last tour next year and I'm gonna go.
