Dom Kennedy - "From The Westside With Love" Pt 3 Album

image

"Leimert Park’s Dom Kennedy spreads love from the Westside on the third installment of his project series, From The Westside With Love.

On this time around, the Los Angeles rapper levels up for the album’s first single, “Rolling Papers“. Among the 15 tracks, other standouts include “Still Grind’n”, “On The Run”, “Good Lookin”, and more. Guests include Quentin Miller, Teefli, Bryan Roberts, Frank, Kay Franklin, My Guy Mars, and True.

From The Westside With Love 3 follows Dom’s 2011 debut album II: From The Westside With Love, the sequel to his 2010’s mixtape, and marks his first project since last year’s LP, Rap N Roll.

I’ve been one of Dom’s biggest critics, up until Get Home Safely he was one of my most spinned artists. By Dom Kennedy had some cuts here and there and then he fell the fu*k off.

That being said, I’m 3 tracks in and he sounds like himself again did not expect that. On beat again, snoozefest voice is gone, flow is good. Hoping the whole tape remains like this.

I listened to it then re-listened to the second one and maybe I shouldn’t compare but I’m sorry it’s night and day with the cadence & even his witty vernacular.

He legit sounds like someone gave him a laced blunt

I listened to Platinum Chanel and was like where the fu*k is THIS bounce he had to his songs??

The production on the album is pretty damn good and the features were dope but idk, nothing he said captivated me in any way. It was just….iite.

I’m way passed comparing it to his old sh*t lol, it has no chance compared to that. I’m glad he sounds on beat at least, step in the right direction. The projects he has dropped after By Dom Kennedy were way worse than this.

I dig that and I respect your perspective fam, I just look at music and sequels in general like, if you aren’t doing something that sonically sounds similar or coming differently creative wise, why bother?

I’m a harsh critic tho so that’s just me, as long as you rocking with it, fu*k it

@ Damnnnnnnnnnnnn man dont say that

So far very meh, these beats eh

He dont sound sleepy tho

Track 9 and 10,11 more the vibe I wanted.Smooth sh*t to ride to.

This Cd is a Tale OF 2 Sides. The 1st half is pure a*s and the 2nd Half is cool to me.A few of them joints going right to the whip.I can def listen to Track 9 and up.Minus 1 or 2 songs

That Track 9 Other Side Gone be played hella times as soon as I wash my whip and let the top back.

Track 9 is a vibe, but it took 9 songs to play something with replay value….

That speaks volumes fam.
