You know how people say on here, "Why do rap fans always put an age limit on their legends' career but they don't do that in rock music?"

I think dwight fans that still support their rock legends will also do the same with Eminem when he gets up there in age.

Jay-Z kinda went beyond rap when he started doing all those crossover songs with dwight artists from other genres plus doing shows with them too. Then he went beyond music once he really went in his bag with the business sh*t.

I think for Drake to be on the level of Dre, Snoop and Jay, he'd have to make sure he never pisses off the machine and try to go beyond rap.

I mean...Eminem is still very famous but he's no where near as musically popular as he was in the past.

Kanye ironically seems to connect with the youth(White) more than Eminem these days at least in America(not sure about overseas). I work near a mostly White high school so I know.

nah fam.. He doesn't have nearly enough hits to be all that.

Drake would be the rap version of the Beatles if he had like 5-6 classic albums to go with his hit catalog. He's as close as it gets tho.

..and he has lost popularity OP, 2000-2003 Marshall was the biggest star in music period, he isn't close to that level anymore. i mean i still got a lot of fans but nothing like back then when he had the whole Mtv machine behind him.. The industry is different now

Im pretty sure, like drake, his core fanbase aren't really hip hop fans. He also has a lot of pull in the music industry so he can do things your average rapper can't.

He's hot trash though. Drake is heading the same direction

Em had the push of Dr.Dre and Jimmy Iovine, taking 50 Cent under his wing after Paul Rosenberg handed him "Guess Who's Back, dissed many rappers and popstars, and even kept trolling the media back when he started.

All those things make Em a hero to his fans.

Benzino tried to get him outta Rap when those tapes came out unfortunately for him Jimmy Iovine used his powers to guide Em out that situation. Had the sponsors take away advertisement behind The Source and gave em to XXL.

A lot of rappers forgave Em and moved on so the rest is history..

They do. Probably in Private. I don't believe all of White America brought Em's early stuff especially when he was obliterating homos and media figures on every song.

He shouldn't.

Hoping he never does lose any of that. He deserves to have that. All of our ICONIC hiphop greats deserve to have that type of celebrity.

Hiphop the only genre to try and push the older generation out, whereas Rock, like fukking U2 & other O.G. rock bands are still doing big gigs like their at their prime... Nobody ever asks if they'll stop or retire.

His place as a legend in not just hip-hop, but pop music general, is cemented.

Eminem can keep cranking out albums until he's 80 and people will check on them because he's a singular talent and his legend speaks for itself.
