Pretty much the downfall of hip hop. Once it became so commercial. Anyone and everyone started rapping and now you see what's out there today.

I’d say 2001-2008 was the true golden age of HipHop as far as content, marketing and culture building

But as soon as drake hit the scene it all shifted

2000-2005 was piff. fu*k you talking about?

Black Album, Blueprint, MMLP, TES, GRODT, Purple Haze, Stillmatic, God's Son, Purple Haze, The Documentary, College Dropout, Late Registration, Be, Stankonia, Madvillainy, Supreme Clientele, Phrenology, The Hunger For More, Come Home With Me, etc.

There were misses back then too but the streaming age of hip hop today has almost nothing to do with the early 2000's.

I think the pirating of the early 2000s lead to the streaming age of hip hop that took off in the early 2010s.

interesting era ...i was selling mixtapes then i started making them myself, briefly worked for def jam promo team ...streetwear was peaking

if you loved the culture ,the culture was able to feed you !
from music, dvds, clothes ,events...rappers were using every tool to promote themselves and subsequently opened doors for others
