Well, firstly, he wasn't referring to "poor people", he's talking about the Motley Fool article, dissecting how people that make 100K (a year), are living paycheck to paycheck, due to housing prices (rising), healthcare cost (rising), food (rising) -- and then breaks down their "lifestyle creep", talking about how people usually toss out the old, and wanna obtain the new -- may that be car, clothes, traveling more, eating out more, etc -- often falling into the "I deserve" category, as their budgets got higher.
