Are Lebron's teams the only in history to get 2K GM like rebuilds? I've never seen so many teams get completely rebuilt akin to 2K GM mode quite like Lebron's. All those unrealistic 2K scenarios seem to come to fruition in real life for him.

Yeah it's crazy how he's been able to construct teams. Miami was the exception because they had to abide by different rules.

Meanwhile, Cleveland and Los Angeles were loaded with young talent so they were able to make trades and build like that, so they could get people bird rights and just go way over the cap.

Lebron's last decade really has been the highest payrolls every year.

no but the lakers have been king at this for decades --- they stole Wilt from the Sixers for peanuts

They stole Kareem from the bucks for peanuts

then they stacked 5 total hall of famers among Magic and Kareem to win 5 rings

then they did it again when they got Shaq --- loaded up with veterans around him and Kobe - traded for Robert Horry 1st who went on the 3 ring streak with them, traded for Glen Rice won 1 - then traded for Horace Grant won 1

traded for Lamar Odom

then later they stole Pau Gasol and won another ring

they traded Andrew Bynum for Dwight Howard on that 1st go

some of the free agent former big name veterans they signed in the 2000s

Gary Payton, Karl Malone, Mitch Richmond, Theo Ratliff, Derek Fisher, Ron Artest, Matt Barnes, Steve Blake, Jason Kapono, Antawn Jamison, Steve Nash, Nick Young, Chris Kaman, Wesley Johnson, Carlos Boozer

^^^ not all of these players worked out obviously but they are good examples of how even when LA wasnt a good team solid vets wanted to play there --- and i didnt even go back thru the 80's or 90's --- they've been finessin for decades

actually no - not the league highest each year

2017-2018 - Cavs barely had a higher payroll than the Warriors

the 2 years before that - the Cavs had the highest by a clear amount

we'll have to wait and see how the dust settles for this year --- contracts arent official yet - but right now the Warriors, Heat, Nets all have 200 million dollar payrolls

Spotrac is more in depth than that 1st site but you have to be a premium member to go back thru the history of team salaries

every team appears to be over the cap this year but some teams have flexibility within those numbers due to cap holds --- we gonna have to wait for cap holds to release - signings and trades to be official -- and also whatever exemptions teams have available or earn from transactions

Point is that Lebron teams are top of highest payrolls. Been that way for a decade. Still the crazy thing is the flexibility those teams have had to make moves.

Heat definitely do not have 200 million payroll. They are capped at 144 and I think currently sit at 136.

I'm not talking bringing in big free agent.

I'm talking about how Cleveland and LA, how they have been top of payroll but have been able to make moves.

LA has been able to remake roster twice way over cap, and having traded all their young a*sets.

Having Kuzma as centerpiece of getting Westbrook is a little unique.

We just saw young guys who are legit NBA players sign for minimums. 15ppg for 5 million a year.

Then THT, less accomplished than Nunn, get 11 million a year?

That ain't just regular Laker business when 23 yr olds who put up 12 ppg going for the minimum.

so you only read that 1 line and not the rest of it?

with Cap Holds yes they have 200mill allocated currently

we have to wait for the dust to settle on all the transactions

and then for GM's to decide on each cap hold

I guess that's one way to look at it.

They are capped at 144 because of trade with Lowry. So if you see Iggy with 15 cap hold right now that's cool but he isn't going to be on the roster.

It's 144 this year.

the point absolutely still stands with LeBron - he's been the most influential player for over a decade.

and now with Klutch sports things have gotten crazier.

he is absolutely LeGM --- but other guys can and have done some of this too. just nobody else is as good at it - and then putting him on the Lakers now has the backing of the ultimate finesse franchise

Morey has built some video game teams himself

other teams have done it in the 80s and 90s also --- not just the Lakers but other teams trying to compete or deal with the Lakers

lots of teams have gone out and added big names but failed - look at Charles Barkley teams - 76ers, Rockets, Suns

The Knicks had some stacked teams that failed

The Bucks built a solid team around their stars to win a ring - signed Brook Lopez (former all star), signed Jeff Teague (former all star), traded for Jrue (former all star), then signed some solid players - Bobby Portis, Bryn Forbes, and PJ Tucker

yeah most of those cap holds will be released

but the trade with Lowry isnt even official all the way yet - there could be additional cap maneuvering by the time it is done. a 3rd team could even be added for 1 side or the other.

thats why i keep saying the dust has to settle on everything --- all signings and trades are agreements currently --- some of the deals still needed details to be finalized

and teams obviously arent done in free agency --- they could end up agreeing on sh*t but waiting to finalize or process the deal just so they can have flexibility with open moves still --- like waiting to finalize a guy you have bird rights on and can go over the cap for while you first finalize a deal with a free agent while you are under the cap still

Tht is the last laker young in left, and they only a*set they have to pay him..nunn turned down other offers to contend,as well as monk who is on a prove it contract and what better way to prove yourself ?

Westbrook wanted out and the wizards got 3 nice pieces and a first rounder..pat riley pull some sh*t out his a*s every year as well
