I stay perched on TCM when I can. They're doing a Bette Davis marathon all day today. I go back and forth between who I think the GOAT actress is - her or Hepburn. Changes depending on the day.

Bogart is clearly the GOAT actor of the era, though.

Marilyn Monroe. I started off just watching her movies based on casualness.

Just solely off of looks and status but she was actually a great actress. From comedic roles to dramatic.

Her performances in Don't Bother To Knock, Niagra, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, How To Marry A Millionaire, River Of No Return, The Seven Year Itch, Some Like It Hot, and The Misfits are all great.

Have you ever watched a Jean Harlow movie? I guess she was Marilyn Monroe before there was a Marilyn Monroe. I think she was better but I definitely get the MM praise.

Some n*ggas clearly cant read or comprehend (prob shoulda used the Li-burry for more than just the free Internet).

Maybe Google the definition of "Old Hollywood" as opposed to just naming old n*ggas currently in Hollywood.

n*gga said Denzel Washington and Meryl Streep.

Do you think my OP wasn't clear? I mean, I did start of naming Bette Davis, Hepburn, and Bogart so I thought it was obvious which era I was talking about lol.

Platinum Blonde, Dinner At Eight, and Red Headed Woman are my favorites. She worked a lot with Clark Gable. I'd say any of those movies, too.

Very good comedic actress.

Check out The Waterfront next. Between the two of those, he's solid. Anything before or after is just icing on the cake.

Katharine Hepburn, Bette Davis, Humphrey Bogart, Marilyn Monroe, Jean Harlow, Marlon Brando, etc -- were KNOWN advocates for Black people.

Now, people like James Stewart and Barbara Stanwyck - I'd understand. But everyone mentioned in here thus far were solid.

Brando
The AFI said Brando was the 4th greatest male actor of all time. They had the list as follows:

1. Bogart
2. Cary Grant
3. James Stewart
4. Brando

You think this is reasonable? Lol

fu*k 'em all? But you do realize Marilyn Monroe was the reason Ella Fitzgerald was able to cross over and stop performing in small night clubs, right? They were friends up until MM's death in 1962. And Ella frequently spoke on how if it wasn't for Marilyn Monroe, she would have still been stuck in small venues.

People like Bette Davis, Marlon Brando, etc - had Black friends openly and publicly. Hell, Brando was ROMANTICALLY linked with James Baldwin and Marvin Gaye.

Never knew that that Method Man line on 'Triumph' was a reference to a movie. Something new everyday, right?
