I mean, lots of rappers have done this…..

Most rappers that are still watched for has switched genres in songs, and it’s mainly rock.

Wayne can’t play a guitar, and his sh*t wasn’t even for the love of ROCK music, it was a shtick about “I ran rap, ehhh now I wanna run rock”

And it was rap rock beats. Not everyone can switch in and out like Kid Rock could

The dude copied everything Wayne did, but it makes more sense for the copy to do it than the originator?

Wayne was the same way with Jay-Z. He literally has verses from Lucky Me tatted on him lol.

Thug has always expressed that Wayne was his idol. I have no problem with it

There are in no such way 'lots of rappers' with rock/country albums.

Of course Thug was influenced by Wayne and Wayne did it first but I never liked the rock sh*t Wayne was on nor none of that autotune run he was on back then. Imo that is part of the reason why he fell tf off... however that particular style is one of Thuggers strong points where Wayne is better lyrically. Wayne is a HOF Goat but Thugga fits more natural in this style visually and sonically

Young thugs music that dropped 2014-2015 including the leaks were straight fire. I know I'm gonna get slapped to hell for this. young thug>lil wayne
even everyone I know in real life disagrees with me. I also acknowledge young thug took a lot of Wayne's style

Don't get the Thug hate from some folks. Fam stood the test of time and lot of people thought he wouldn't last past 2014. He still here and has inspired a whole sleuth of acts that all sound like Young Thug.

Almost everybody sounds like somebody.

You can def hear the influence in his early music but even then I think thug had his own flair and today he’s a very unique artist that other people now copy and sound like.

If you made a list of people who really stand out in rap musically would thug not be a noteworthy person on it?

I think people just say things because they see it and then it becomes a thing everyone says/ believes because of hive minds.
