Man I worked at UPS 5 days a week after school when I was in high school. They worked us hard as hell. But I chose to do and it motivated me to make more of myself so I wouldn’t have to work so hard for so little money. Nobody forcing them to work there. Get the hell on

This is literally no different than typical warehouse jobs in the 2000’s, 90’s, etc.

It could be much worse, like working in the trenches doing hard labor in construction away from home. Sure you make good money, but that’s where you’re really putting your time in and working for your sh*t.

Same here except I was in college working that midnight shift loader motivated me right into becoming a programmer that can work from home or in an office.

Yes, but this corporation is trying to break the mold by giving the littlest guy a f*ghting chance.

In a monetized world pay is everything. You speak like a child that is still on their parents health insurance. Grow up.

drove for them for a year. all of us pissed in water bottles and fake took a lunch and worked through it so we didn't get yelled at for being begind.

they force workers out and keep a 30% turnover monthly because bezos thinks workers get lazy aftwr 6 months.

the reason amazon is king is because this dude squeezes every second out of every worker.

People hate Amazon cause it's a co-ed cesspool of drama and negativity. I'm sure folks could get over the hard labor part if they didn't have to constantly be bombarded with whos fu*king who, supervisors acting unprofessional as fu*k, and attractive women and old people getting away with not carrying their weight. It's just a place that lacks focus and its a direct result of our egalitarian everybody gets a trophy culture.

That's pretty much every warehouse type job. I was night management at one and it wasn't so bad at first but then they slowly started tracking every single sh*t folks did and had an unreasonable work quota. Before I got ms and had to dip a lot of folks kept their jobs because I was in a position to fudge the numbers because the numbers are set by people who have never done the job and just think well if they're doing this much now then they should be able to do more. I'm guessing when I left a lot of the folks working under me on night shift weren't far behind me

Welcome to just about every local commercial/residential delivery job.

Talk to USPS or UPS/FedEx drivers.

fu*k talk to a over the road driver about pissing out the passenger door on the side of the HWY, or taking a sh*t in a Big gulp cup.

Pays godd? You don't even make a living wage. And this is why the average worker can't go anywhere because we have people propping poor wages and keeping the politicians that keep wages low.

Y'all already know that these kids of the digital age not trying to do no physical, manual labor. They hate anybody who works doing anything that includes physicality. From manual labor to playing sports

They all wanna make a living being podcasters, or doing a youtube channel, or showing their a*s on Instagram enough to get a deal selling unregulated tummy tea, or have an onlyfans channel where they can get paid to play with your pu**y for simps.

Those are the career coveted career paths these days. If you doing physical labor you get looked at like a shill

This thread is a case study in why we'll never have wages keep pace w inflation

Got folks justifying inhumane conditions by saying that the entire industry has those work conditions and then villifying those who have the audacity to request for more normal work conditions

Truth be told the majority of these kids are massively overqualified compared to their counterparts in the 90s and 00s, and would be working desk jobs in those eras. They just got fu*ked by bad economies and aging labor force that had poor savings habits and still needs work

Weird amount of shills in here claiming Amazon is just like any other warehouse job when it demonstrably isn't. This has been written about for a decade!

I worked overnight at UPS in college, worked for an Amazon warehouse a bit after graduating... to this day Amazon is the only place I worked where bathroom breaks were discouraged. They couldn't keep you from going but they'd say stuff like, "Again?!" when they saw you go. This was in the summer and it was usually 95+ in the warehouse. People passed out trying to stay hydrated but not TOO hydrated that they needed to use the bathroom often because that made it impossible to make your numbers since the bathroom was as far away from the production floor as possible.

I was there when they made you clock out first THEN spend like an hour going through security to leave. They were successfully sued for that because that time was unpaid labor. And Amazon KNEW it was illegal the whole time but getting away with it for 5 years saved them more money than the lawsuit cost them...

...but folks that never worked there and don't know what they're talking about are in here saying it's a regular degular warehouse job are profoundly ignorant.

One of the dumbass shills said Amazon wants to give the little guy a chance... dumbest thing I've ever read on here

You are a dumbass fam. 90%+ of the workers in an Amazon warehouse are going to be temps with no benefits making around $10/hr. The 10% that are actual Amazon employees make around $14/hr but the percentage that can become Amazon employees is CAPPED.

This structure is designed to dangle a carrot in front of that 90% of employees that is literally impossible to catch unless someone leaves. This is wildly exploitative and is designed to prey upon people's hopes and dreams and the financial pressures in their life to squeeze a liiiiiiittttttle more blood out of their employees.

Playing with people like that is fu*king demonic. It's wrong to treat people like that
