Next year I will be able to afford it but I know that the CLS goes every common-sense instinct in me, I could get the new Mazda CX50 next year for far less money....but the CLS has always been my "I made it" dream car and I am at that point now.

Help brothers! I wanna do the right thing but my emotions are strong for this car.

Lease it. I have the GT53 which is basically the same car. You could probably get a little discount cuz they don't sell well. They actually might stop making them.

Man you worked hard just do it smart. Lease it see if you can get smaller payments. You don’t work hard to not treat yourself at least once

Both are great vehicles, I personally would choose the A7.

Well, you already know the 2021 new car price. Take a look at autotrader.com and look up that car's price for 2020 and 2019 models and see how much it depreciates. Are you willing to eat that depreciation in the next two years?

The 2012-2018 one is one of the s*xiest cars on the road. I want it in white, red, or black.

The newest CLS looks so generic.

In my Humble opinion

If you are already telling yourself “next year I will be able to afford it”... you really shouldn’t.

Just bc you can pay for it doesn’t mean you can afford it

In my opinion, since you will be able to afford it, wait another 3-5 years.

It will be that much sweeter

Also - as someone who in the past always thought “well this is the car I want and I mean I work hard for my sh*t I might as well get it I can afford it”......

I always took an L

I roll an old Prius now it’s paid for I get great gas and zero stress.

Save your $$$

Even though this question was not posed to me allow me to interject....my brother bought a used 2016 A7 and let me say that the car is immaculate! If you can afford the maintenance these cars are well worth it...check one out brodi the tech is insane! Cheers to you on your endeavors!

It took me 18+ years of being an adult to not spend my money in my head before actually receiving it

Knowing this now makes it an even worse idea imo

Either way enjoy what you choose to do

Nope. Get the Toyota Camry XSE Hybrid (with glass roof). Great car, great fuel efficiency, and only about 33-35k fully optioned brand new. And this is coming from someone that just sold his fully optioned 2016 Mercedes S Class.

And there is the real answer to any German made car. You can’t afford the car if you can’t afford for it to break down. They have so many moving parts, and they all cost a lot. Being able to afford the car payments does NOT mean you can afford a Mercedes.
