Can we stop this "Shortest Offseason" narrative?

Average NBA offseason is 20 weeks, so roughly 140 days.

Between the COVID shut down to the bubble, 118 days passed.

Between the start of the bubble and the end of the NBA Finals, 96 days passed. So that is max days spent in the bubble.

The last standard regular season was 176 days. That is one game every 2.14 days.

This regular season was 145 days. That is one game every 2.013 days.

Between the end of the Finals and the regular season resuming, another 72 days passed.

So an off season and a half of time in less than a year, playing games only a tenth more frequently than a normal regular season and these dudes want to complain? If ya'll don't see that these guys are trying to get paid for less work than I don't know what to tell you. The pussification of the league continues.

They said this same sh*t when guys were dropping like flies in the 2019 playoffs. Injuries happen. It's part of the game. Get over it. I didn't see this energy when he was benefiting from in in the bubble.

Not to mention these pros be playing overseas, balling at the Rucker and showing off at the local ymca in the off-season. Bron actin like they all sit at home and get fat like Thor. How many players play in the post season and only 9 got hurt (sucks the were all stars) but that’s a small percentage of overall available players

Professional athletes mad they gotta play a 2 hour game 3-4 times a week then if they shorten the season and take games away they be bi*ch about the lack of game checks

AAU schedules, Non-Stop Training and Pace of Game are the biggest factors now.

Finally seeing that sh*t trickle down to NBA. This started happening years ago in MLB with dudes blowing out their arms like crazy.

This. These guys train literally year round. Your body can't take that sh*t. Wear and tear from running and cutting is too hard on the body to do it that much.

They have most injuries in nba this season with some rising stars getting their season ending early due to injuries or only playing a handful of games.

The playoffs are now missing 9th all stars due to injuries most in nba history, some guys are on the all nba teams

Lakers, Nets, Boston, Denver, Portland, and heat were hit the hardest by injuries and clipper possibly Kawhi to a knee injury before he gets a extension.

sh*t wasn’t even an off season it was more like a school summer break and they couldn’t properly train with their usual trainers because they trying to avoid virus that does considerable damage to the body and after effects. And the injuries these guy are soft tissue injuries dude to not properly resting their body dude to a short offseason without a real trainer getting to play and a playing 3 games in 4 nights consistently and you couldn’t get proper resting due to the testing.

Just admit Silver and the owners got greedy and it backfired. Silver went against his word and included an all star game in Atlanta knowing tnt is in Atlanta and get the money and try to make it about HBCU. Dudes are gonna look at this n*gga sideways and not believe one single word from dude

First the argument was they couldn't train so soft tissue injuries occur, then there wasn't enough time to rest when they just spent 100 days in the bubble training and playing. So which is it?

The injury rate in this playoffs are no worse than the last full regular season/playoffs which saw 6 players have their season ended to injury and completely decided the NBA Finals. This year there have only been 2. One of which had already missed a majority of the regular season with the same issue.

Ya'll just be saying anything huh

League data shows the player injury rate this season is down about 6%, even though several marquee players — including LeBron James, Anthony Davis, Kevin Durant, Joel Embiid, James Harden and most recently Jamal Murray — have dealt with injuries in recent weeks.

"Injuries rates this season were virtually the same as last season, and any suggestion to the contrary is inaccurate," NBA senior vice president David Weiss told ESPN. "The number of serious injuries was lower this season than last season. Although more players this season missed a single game because of an injury or rest, injuries resulting in many games missed were in line with normal historical trends. To operate this season safely in a pandemic has been physically and mentally challenging for everyone involved, and players and teams have risen to the challenge and avoided an increase in serious injuries."

I been saying this since the season started. "Experts" on bx have no clue how to draw a conclusion or interpret info.

What was failed to be mentioned in this thread is that several teams (8) had THE LONGEST off season ever.... from early March to late December (roughly 9.5 months).

5 teams only went to the bubble for eight games, and 1 team went for nine, games, and then they were back on vacation.

So basically 14 teams had EXTENDED off seasons... far longer than the usual.

On top of that.... teams report injuries that players don't have. Players want/needed rest and teams did not want to get fined. You know what type of injuries can be reported and not proved or disproved? Yep, you guess it... soft tissue injuries.

Absolutely this. And STILL an overall lower injury rate. Hmmm.

The most 'injured team' this season was the Magic who were in the bubble for one round.

The third most injured team were the Cavs who didn't even come to the bubble.

The fourth most injured were the Hawks, who also didn't make it to the bubble.

There is literally no basis for any narrative they are trying to spin related to the offseason and condensed schedule. Also important to note they are traveling less this year than any other year.

A lot of people jumped on before Lebron said it because of the report from last week that said there was a marginally higher rate for soft-tissue injuries over a 72-game season than what it was in 2017-18 i think it was. However, bX didn't read the report to actually know what they were saying. They didn't come to a definitive conclusion as to why.... they just offered a ton of circumstantial estimates.

Lebron came out after Kawhi but... Kawhi a gym rat with a home gym and been taking games off. He average 22 games off the last 3 seasons. His injury comes from maybe fragility, or maybe from playing noticeably harder in the playoffs... but it's not from lack of rest or being out of shape. Lebron running his idiot mouth on some sh*t he knows nothing about.

I even pointed to the last olympic year to show how dudes played a full season, playoffs, went straight to USA camp whenever they got knocked off in the playoffs. Guys that were in the Finals took a week off and then went. Played exhibitions, then went to the olympics, played and won the gold through late august. Were back playing in the regular season in October. So that was the 15-16 and 16-17 seasons.

Maybe they could have called the season off and not have the bubble
What did Bron think was going to happen? Have the same length of offseason after it was pushed back and forever change the time of year/months pro ball is played ?
Sure was a lotta "I's" in his statement. "I told you", "I knew"....
He's doing everything he can to push the narrative to make this season every bit of an asterisk season last years was.
Kawhi and AD stay hurt.
Murray plays an aggressive type of ball because nobody besides Joker is worth a damn.
Father Time doin what he do.

Y'all weird as hell to defend this season. Teams were playing 8 games in 11 nights. Y'all bringing up AAU just proving the wear and tear that these guys have been going thru has long been a issue. The only narratives being formed are the ones that you use against people that you hate.
